Despite all his rage, Billy Corgan is still a sucker for kittens.

The Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman recently posed on the cover of PAWS Chicago magazine, a publication from PAWS Chicago, a no-kill animal shelter that runs pet adoptions and a spay and neuter clinic. Corgan cuddled up with his two adopted kittens, PAWS alumni Sammi and Mr. Thom, for the shot.

Corgan’s support of PAWS didn’t end after he brought Sammi and Mr. Thom home. He has continued to support the no-kill shelter’s mission by donating personalized prizes (private concert and tea!) to their auctions and helping raise tremendous funds, thanks to his celebrity.

Corgan says that he gets much more than he gives in volunteering with PAWS. His two little kittens bring him immense joy and he’s happy to help more animals.

“In my home, the animals run the show,” he says. “At best, we’re equals. But that’s the way it should be. They have every right to live and be happy as much as I do.”

Check out Corgan’s full interview on PAWS Chicago magazine online.

Don’t blame vegans for the shame you feel about using animals

The shame Carly Lewis claims veganism casts over her is more likely the ghosts of moral uncertainty, spectres that are more likely fish than cows, wondering how morality can possibly be used as ammunition in favour of murder.
