Heroes are found around the world, and the latest one can be found working at the India-based organization Animal Aid Unlimited.

Recently, Animal Aid Unlimited, an organization that operates an animal hospital and shelter received an urgent call from villagers in Udaipur. They needed help to save a little puppy who had fallen down an open well, and was desperately swimming in circles trying to find something to latch onto, so she would not drown.

Immediately, staff from Animal Aid Unlimited moved into action and managed to retrieve the puppy, just moments before her exhausted little body would have succumbed to the depths of the water.

A lot of the credit for the puppy’s new lease on life, can largely be attributed to one of Animal Aid Unlimited’s experienced rescuers, a man named Ganpat. The team strapped a rope around Gampat’s chest and slowly lowered him down the well. Once Gampat reached the water he scooped up the puppy and firmly held her close to his chest, as the team pulled them back up to safety.

Immediately after the rescue and a close examination, the veterinarians determined that the puppy was hypothermic, but since then she has made a full recovery thanks to an hour of warm blankets and hot water bottles.

“Her temperature was back to normal and she was totally fine!’ said Animal Aid Unlimited. “That evening she was reunited with her mother and siblings and a group of neighbors very happy to see her alive and back home,” they added.
