14-Year-Old Boy Saves Disabled Man and His Dog From Fire

A 14-year old boy from Fairfield, CA is being called a hero.

The high school student leapt into action when he smelled smoke coming from a neighboring apartment. Latrell McCockran grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher and carried his neighbor, a 62-year-old disabled man, to safety.

The man then told McCockran that his dog was still trapped inside. Unfazed, the boy ran inside the engulfed apartment and rescued the dog.

When asked what prompted him to take such quick action, he simply said, “I can’t sit there and let somebody die.”
