Last Tuesday night Senator Cory Booker left a White House event early because of the lack of vegan food.

PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Senator attended a cocktail party hosted by President Barack Obama in the newly refurbished White House State Dining Room last week. The semi formal event brought democratic senators together to discuss spending bills, climate change, the recent successful Obamacare Supreme Court ruling, and the Iran nuclear deal over drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Booker, however, didn’t stay long at the soiree claiming there was nothing for him to eat as a vegan.

“I can tell you that there were no vegan options, so I’m going to have to complain to my congressman,” said Booker. “You would think the president would say, ‘Cory’s coming.’ C’mon.”

Later that week, the president and the first lady welcomed 54 kids from around the country at the Kids State Dinner with many of the served meals created by the kid chefs being vegetarian and vegan.

Maybe the White House chef wrote down some of the recipes for future events?

And they are promoting climate change so one would think that they would definitely have an abundance of vegan options. Hope things start to change for the better and we start seeing the real solutions and stop beating around the bush when it comes to finding the real culprit of climate change which is factory farming and hope we stop putting band-aids on real problems like climate change when we can really make a difference and cure this problem from ever happening with each meal we take in.

If there is NO ‪#‎vegan‬ food at a restaurant or event, no one should eating there (ie, that much unhealthy food!). “Catering to vegans” is really just catering to health & vitality. If I can’t eat vegan, you can’t have your high cholesterol medication!

Uh huh… I’m vegan and have no idea what type of food was served there but I’m doubting it was a whopper with fries. It’d be nice to have vegan offerings but caterers in general are bad at it.

Don’t blame vegans for the shame you feel about using animals

The shame Carly Lewis claims veganism casts over her is more likely the ghosts of moral uncertainty, spectres that are more likely fish than cows, wondering how morality can possibly be used as ammunition in favour of murder.
