We wrote about Steve Spielberg being interested in placing a more ‘up-lifting’ spin on Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ and now it appears that some other filmmakers have the same idea. Their new film, ‘Everything’s Cool‘, is a “toxic comedy” about global warming coming to America and the people fighting to make a difference.

You can check out their site and see some cool film clips here, but the real story is their performance at Sundance and the experience of showing a film for the first time to the public. They have a running blog here with details and videos of the past week; including some controversy that erupted over The Weather Channel’s, Dr. Heidi Cullen, and one of her posts on global warming.

One nice addition and a trend we hope to see continue, is the offsetting of over 300 pounds of carbon emissions generated from their travel to Sundance. After each screening, audience members signed postcards to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid – urging Congress to increase their commitment to address global warming. NRDC efficiency tips cards were also handed out; along with over 1,000 IKEA CFL bulbs. (IKEA sells light bulbs too?)

So, hit their site and spread the word! The DVD will be available Spring 2007.
