With an eye on the latest fashion trends, we’re here to tell you that Boho has evolved in Foho. I know, I know, you can’t believe it either.
What the hell am I talking about? I’m not sure if I’m following what I’m typing, but here goes. Apparently, Boho (or Bohemian) fashion was all the rage last year. It incorporated a hippy-feel with cowboy hats, large medallions, and floaty flowing outfits. It was embraced by the Olsen twins, Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Elle Macpherson to name a few.
Instead, this year, we have “Foho”. From the article,
“Foho is about a more understated, eclectic mix, fusing classic Boho elements – Seventies silhouettes, crochet trims and trippy hippie prints – with more subtle folk pieces, such as washed-out denim and traditional embroideries. Crucially, it also throws in something modern like a great big shiny It-bag or Ã¼ber-cool trainers. It’s cooler and far more authentic than Boho and owes more to the original folk look of the Seventies.”
Got that? The Foho label is rallying behind earth-friendly materials; most notably organic cotton. Celebrity-hippies such as Milla Jovovich or Danish supermodel Helena Cristensen are launching their own fashion lines that include folky pieces such as floor-length tiered dresses with crochet or lace trims, dreamy washed out floral prints, velvet ribbon belts, and denim flares. Whatever happened to jeans and a white t-shirt?
