Stone Gossard. Photo credit: Danny ClinchStone Gossard of Pearl Jam is one of us. He is a treehugging environment lover. We talked about him back in one of our very first posts. Grist had recently sat down with Stone to discuss biodiesel tour buses and Pearl Jam’s new Carbon Portfolio Strategy.

Well, it seems he’s at it again. A rather short post on the Pearl Jam blog tells us:

STONE SWIMS WITH THE WILD SALMON
Among the many environmental endeavors that Stone Gossard tirelessly pursues is his latest passion, The Wild Salmon Center. Please visit their website to find out more.

So we do. Wild salmon habitats are a big problem, and apparently, the Wild Salmon Center is the only group trying to do something about it across the Pacific Rim. Their website is full of information regarding what they do and why they do it.

I was going to finish this one up with a salmon joke, but this is the only one I found, and I don’t get it. Oh well.
