I was planning on covering this MTV & Walmart story this week…not because I’ve heard any celebrity names associated with it, but because I figured MTV is a celebrity in itself. The Yahoo News article reports that “‘Everyday Green,’ a unique joint initiative designed to promote sustainability and demonstrate to consumers how to work environmentally-friendly products into their lives, would be on display at the NYC MTV Store through November 10. Sounds great, right?

If there’s one thing we like about MTV it’s that they have an agenda – but this exhibition isn’t MTV voicing their concerns – it’s a marketing ploy waving a tiny green flag.
The space is scarce of anything with depth. Most of the advice is on changing your lightbulb to a more efficient one. There are some displays on the wall promoting green products that Walmart sells and an apparently green Toshiba laptop. At the back of the cafe, six big screens blast all day long a promo for the Inconvenient Truth and a wave of Toshiba laptops shine down all day long on top of you.
