CSNY: Sounds like the New York version of CSI to me…but that’s because I’m ignorant. It, of course, stands for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – the musical legends. They’ve been touring in alternative fuel vehicles for six years!
“This is a beginning, a start. Someone has to lead us out of this dark hole of dependence on foreign oil. Someone has to start it and it might as well be you,” Graham Nash said while waiting for his food to be served at the USA Restaurant in Reynolds.
Bandmate David Crosby agreed.
“I think it’s much better to produce our fuel here and give our money to American farmers then it is to send it to Saudi Arabia where they don’t even like us,” Crosby said.
Publicity for a good cause is great. But here’s the catch, one very similar to the ethanol push at the VMAs last week: The biofuel pumps are not yet operational in BioTown, so they trucked in B20 fuel so that the tour bus could fill up. (Ethanol is also not currently available in New York – it was also brought in for the event.)
Is it good to “pump up” the cause and truck in green fuels just for the publicity? Or does it make the publicity seem just like a stunt?
