snipshot_94u1helex07.jpgGlobal Green USA definitely has some powerful celebrities working for its initiatives. There’s DiCaprio, there’s Bloom, there’s Clinton, but most importantly for capturing massive press, there’s Brad Pitt.

It’s no secret that since teaming up with Angelina Jolie, Pitt has intensified his efforts to reach out and assist those in need. One of his greatest projects has been pushing for the sustainable re-building of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Now, as Global Green USA pushes forward with plans to develop a green community in New Orleans, they’re using the Pitt partnership, as well as a host of other media exposure opportunities, to lure in partners. From their press release,

“Brad Pitt and Global Green USA have partnered to build a sustainable green community in New Orleans, and are seeking cornerstone partners, each with category exclusivity, for the project. The goal is to create a prototype for affordable, sustainable housing that would save residents money by reducing energy costs using environmentally friendly and weather-resistant building materials. Your client’s participation in the program would be highlighted throughout the program’s established media partnerships (”Oprah,” People, “Dateline,” “Today,” etc.) and would unequivocally promote your client’s commitment to supporting environmental causes.”

What must you contribute to become part of the club? Let’s see, $1 million to $2 million per year, an effort to promote green education amongst your employees, and a general support of green initiatives through consumer awareness programs or iconic products, etc.

For this, you get an ‘affiliation with celebrity spokesperson Brad Pitt’, media time on the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’, ‘Dateline NBC’, VH1, etc. Not a bad price to pay for all of the above goodies. C’mon corporate America, pony up the dough, and get some green in your portfolio! This seems like a win/win for everyone involved. You can even put a smiling picture of Brad Pitt in your marketing materials. Not a bad way to attract certain demographics…

    Good Day,
I am in the furniture business in the US, St. Maarten and the island of Dominica. I work directly out of Indonesia with the tsunami victims.
My purpose of this email is to inquire for a contact I could speak to about bringing the victims of Katrina and Tsunami together in helping each other rebuild.
I will be traveling to Jakarta and other parts of Indonesia next month.
    Thank you in advance.
