This morning, Pitt was reunited with Curry to talk about how far the foundation has come — and, true to his word, chat a bit about those people who once more have a roof above their heads. The interview took place in front of one of the first six homes now complete. However, Pitt’s got big plans for 2009. “This time next year, you’re going to see 100 homes here.” Check out the interview below:

Last night’s fundraiser for the Waterkeeper Alliance was a complete success — and the Razz’s Melissa Rosenberg was on the scene to take some photographs and drop a few notes on the evening. Here are some of her observations:

“Many guests at the Lexus’ Eco Salon benefit for Waterkeeper Alliance drove up to the Chappaqua home of William Wachtel and Annie Zabar in their hybrid cars. Guests mingled throughout three rooms, viewing sustainably design luxury furniture showcased from Uhuru and discussing ways live a more luxury sustainable lifestyle and protect our waters”

“Chairman of Waterkeeper Alliance, Robert F Kennedy, Jr., gave a passionate speech touching on his faith in our new administration, and how we must invest in clean renewable energy to save our environment and create new jobs. At a fundraiser for the Waterkeeper Alliance last night, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. insisted that his photo be taken with very helpful valet staff. Kennedy drove his own Lexus hybrid to the event and wanted to share a moment with those working behind the scenes to help make the night a success. As Remy Chevalier said, “It was nice to see the guy in a different light, loose, in an atmosphere where he felt at ease amongst friends.”

Up first are vegan authors and Eugene, Oregon residents, Beverly Lynn Bennett and Ray Sammartano. Ray and Beverly are the authors of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Vegan Cooking, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Vegan Living and Vegan Bites. Along with that, Ray and Beverly run VeganChef.com and Beverly writes a column for our favorite magazine crush, VegNews.

I had the chance to visit the power duo’s home, sample some of Beverly’s amazing cooking (can anyone say raw desserts?) and dish about all things veg. Check out the Ecorazzi Exclusive video below!

Enter PETA. Stage left.

The animal rights organization is blasting Jackson for not doing better due diligence on the care and conditions of his giraffes. Apparently, after Neverland was dismantled last year, the pop singer sold the four giraffes to a US couple that was getting ready to open an animal sanctuary. Those plans are still being finalized, and in the meantime PETA says the giraffes are being held in cages too small. A spokesperson for PETA said:

“When Jackson faced recent financial troubles, the giraffes were sold to a couple in Page, Arizona, who were reportedly planning to set up a zoo. More than a year later, the giraffes are still confined to pens that allegedly each measure approximately 15ft by 15ft, and the animals reportedly have not been receiving adequate veterinary or husbandry care. If Michael could see the giraffes’ plight for himself, I’m sure he’d agree that it’s bad - really, really bad.”

Will Jacko save the day? Or are these giraffes the same ones that Saturday Night Live claims “are plotting to take over the world“? Stay tuned!

The first items to hit the block are Stephen’s faux-fur boots; which as he alternatively proclaims “are made with real Yeti fur”. They also come with his “actual calf-sweat”. Just like the DVD sales of the Christmas special, this auction will benefit the non-profit Feeding America.

Soon to follow will also be the “Stephen” and “Colbert” stockings that hung above the fireplace and the sweater he wore. Jump here to bid on the boots!

Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker is said to be on board to assist Sundance with the new series. Reuters is reporting that Whitaker might have a voice-over role — with producing credits as well.

“Whitaker, the Oscar-winning star of “The Last King of Scotland,” will serve as an executive producer with the series’ directors, Marc Levin (”Slam”) and Mark Benjamin (”The Last Party”).

With regards to how in the world all this might relate to green, the series is said to address and seek solutions to some of the environmental problems faced by the city; as well as violence, education, and poverty. Look for it to debut in 2009 with an initial order of six half-hour episodes.
