Ecorazzi Gets Fashionably Green At The Be Eco Chic Launch Party

What’s your definition of eco chic? Wanna know mine? My definition of eco chic is taking the A train uptown to the American Museum of Natural History and going to a fancy environmentally aware fashion show sponsored by green companies and shock full of eco-celebs. At said party I might even drink expensive wine, say hello to Adrien Grenier and watch stars model the latest and greatest eco-clothing amongst some of New York’s top fashionistas.

Yes Ecorazzi readers, you guessed it! Last night I had the privilege of attending the Be Eco Chic fashion event at none other than New York City’s famous American Museum of Natural History. The evening was a blast and besides the Adrien Grenier siting, I spotted Chevy Chase, Dominque Swain, Coltrain Curtis and many more famous faces who all came out to support green fashion.

As the show began our hostess Angela Lindvall reminded us that being green doesn’t mean you can’t be fashion forward. And even though I myself dress like a clueless straight dude, after watching a runway full of eco outfits by designers like Chado Ralph Rucci, DKNY, Carmen Marc Valvo, Nicole Miller and Loomstate, I seriously thought about learning a thing or two about fashion.

Besides hob-knobbing with New York’s elite, I also got the chance to say hello to some of Ecorazzi’s nearest and dearest, including our friends at 360 Vodka, Bradford Rand (founder of the Go Green Expo), and the folks at the Sierra Club.  As the night winded down we were treated to a performance by Jon McLaughlin — who I have to say was frigin fantastic – and then invited to a glorious after party that, sadly, I wasn’t able to make. Of course on hand was one of Ecorazzi’s most fashionable photographers, Melissa Rosenberg, who managed to get some great shots from the evening.

As always, we here at Ecorazzi are more than happy to bring you the exclusive scoop from one of New York’s most exclusive events. Now go change those clothes and GET ECO CHIC!

charity: water Partners With Saks Fifth Ave For NYC Event

Filed under: campaigns, ecorazzi exclusive, events, events: nyc — parrish @ 4:17 pm

You know about charity: water, right? In the past, Ecorazzi has told you all about their huge NYC Gala and how stars like Adrien Grenier and eco-jewelry designer Monique Pean were getting involved.

Well earlier this week charity: water held an event at Saks Fifth Avenue and invited your friends at Ecorazzi to come play. The evening celebrated charity: water’s work in building freshwater wells in developing nations and providing entire communities with delicious H20. Why Saks? Well Saks has recently partnered with the charity for it’s Mother’s and Father’s Day initiative to help provide clean drinking water in parts of the world that most desperately need it.

Check this out: Did you know that since August of 2006 charity: water has constuction more than 624 clean water projects in 11 countries that, when fully completed, will provide 250,000 people with clean drinking water? Or that 100 percent of the money raised goes directly to fund freshwater well and sanitation projects? Umm….AMAZING!

The evening was a success as some of New York’s hottest citizens (seriously, it was like model central) strutted the floor drinking organic cocktails and dishing out dough for future projects. At one end of the party hung a huge puzzle that contained 260 squares, each available to purchase for 20 dollars (which I totally did by the way). When the puzzle was completed, charity: water had raised enough money to provide a well that would supply a community of 400 people with clean drinking water.

Clean water is something that most of us take for granted and it’s amazing to learn how just a small donation can make a big difference. Find out how much change your change can make at charitywater.org
