Unfortunately, such changes have been slow to develop.

“It’s a constant struggle, it’s about habits. We are habitual creatures and people don’t always want to change. They only want to do what they know,” Grenier told FOX News at the Salvatore Ferragamo soiree in Beverly Hills to support GlobalGiving’s Italy Earthquake Recovery and Relief Fund. “At one point, we wanted to use all bio-diesel generators on-set, but its just not viable as the technology isn’t up to par. So what we did was just replace one generator. It’s a slow process of transformation.”

In his personal life, however, things are greener than ever. “The fact that the Obama’s put a garden at the White House is not only a symbolic gesture, but it’s also a very tangibly successful one. I just put in a garden myself, I was inspired,” he added. “I’m growing zucchini, lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries and corn.”

Check out Adrian speaking with our own Anna Griffin last week at the 2009 Global Green Millennium Awards on why greening our schools is a step in the right direction.

What do high-fashion, sustainable designs and downtown LA all have in common? Designers & Agents launch of the D&A Green Market, a sustainable trade event encompassing the world of fashion, lifestyle, design and community. I was there on Saturday night and it was ecoutrageous!

The fabulously dressed, D&A co-founder, Barbara Kramer, told the Razz that she and fellow co-founder (Ed Mandelbaum) are committed to helping green be more than just a fad, but a lifestyle choice. Judging from the chic, conscious designs on exhibit, there are lots of high style green choices in furniture, jewelry, apparel and gifts. Barbara and Ed are putting their money where their mouth is as they are gifting space, in the eco-capsule’s Green Room, to young eco-conscious brands. In an effort to keep the Green Room… well, green… brands must demonstrate that a minimum of 60% of their product line is achieved through sustainable practices. That’s what I call Haute Ecouture!

Saturday night was a double hitter as the Razz’s very own Anna Griffin launched her much awaited online magazine, Coco Eco, at the Green Market. People swirled around the Coco Eco booth to congratulate Anna and get a sneak peak at the super slick, online magazine. Anna says it’s for girls who, like her, think that the environment doesn’t need to suffer for ones fabulousness. I, for one, am with ya, sister!

Coco Eco is so f’n cool, I won’t be able to do it justice (but I am going to try!), so you HAVE to log on and see for yourself! Once you’re at the site, you can choose the place in which you want to read the magazine. Do you want to be loafing at work (like you’re doing now)? If so, you’ll have this fab wood paneling as your wallpaper and you’ll hear office sounds in the background which are way cooler than listening to your cube neighbor’s conversation with her mother (again). Or, are you more of a sit-in-the-park or rub-your-toes in the sand kind of magazine reader? If so, you’ll either be sitting on the grass or beach listening to birds chirping, dogs barking and people playing Kadima (well, I made that part up)! If that wasn’t enough, you actually get to turn the pages of the magazine without fear of a paper cut! Like I said people, this is one cool non-magazine magazine.

Show me the money? Well, actually the mag is totally free, if you read it online, that is. If, however, you are interested in retaining a copy on your hard drive (to read at a later date), it’ll cost you a mere $2.99 to download (.99 of which is donated to rotating charities) and of course they encourage you not to print it out, once downloaded. I’m coconuts for Coco Eco magazine!

Tracy Metro (and yes, Metro IS her real name!) is a TV host who was eco-chic before eco and chic were even hyphenated! Wanna learn more about this eco-conut? Grab a fare card and go for a ride at www.tracymetro.com

Our fave EV Ambassador, Chelsea Sexton, was in Santa Monica last week for a girly green makeover courtesy of Elle Magazine and Paul Mitchell hair products. The Elle Eco Spa Bus, whose previous life was transporting handicapped patients in Boise, Idaho, was transformed into a gorgeous biodiesel-fueled eco salon in celebration of Elle’s 3rd annual May green issue. Traveling to malls throughout Southern California from mid-April to early May, visitors were treated to complimentary mini-makeovers, and eco-friendly goody bags. However, Elle upped the ante, asking every participant to contribute a suggested donation of $10 to the charity American Forests.

Chelsea who self admittedly has recently been “raising Kane and causing trouble” with auto-makers, was whisked on board for a sleek eco-blowout by stylist Carly, from Floyd’s Barber Shop, who explained that all proceeds from the Elle Eco Spa Bus tour supporting American Forests, go to offsetting the co2’s from creating the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Line, by planting new trees. Apparently, they raised approximately $500 each day, which puts the contribution from the tour at approximately $9000. That’s a lot of new trees.

Chelsea, who will not ever even consider hybrids because of fuel consumption, looked ravishing as she departed ready for her upcoming appearance at the Los Angeles Flagship Tesla Showroom opening. Unlike the rest of us, the lucky girl has already gotten to test-drive the Tesla, and apparently, it is the sexiest plug-in she has ever driven. We’re not surprised!

The oh-so self-depreciating star of Who Killed The Electric Car is currently busy with her two non-profits, Plug In America, and “Lightening Rod,” as well as filming a sequel, Who Saved The Electric Car in which she hopes automakers will redeem themselves. In parting, she reminded us all about the power we have as consumers, and to not just vote politically, but also with our dollars. In her case it means not only partaking in green beauty rituals, but also calling carmakers and requesting plug-in autos. Let’s get dialing, America!

Thanks to Remy for hooking us up with this opportunity!
