The Green Quote: “Vaguely Vegan” Anne Hathaway Enjoys Some Beefy Burgers

Filed under: food & drink — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 11:35 am

Anne Hathaway“I’ve been enjoying a couple of post-Oscar burgers. So I didn’t fit into a lot of the vintage stuff. I wanted to wear something that was a little bit more forgiving.”

- Anne Hathaway blaming not being able to fit into her clothes on all that red meat. We’re pretty bummed to hear that Anne’s been eating the cruel stuff — especially since she recently told David Letterman that she was “vaguely vegan.” You broke my heart, Anne. You broke my heart.

Green Ball, Take 2 (This Time, With Maroon 5 and Will.i.am)

Filed under: green and famous — thomas @ 7:59 pm

Adam Levine, of Maroon 5Washington hasn’t seen this much fun in….well, has it ever seen this much fun? It’s been a great week here in D.C., with so many celebs running from party to party that I’ve got to wonder whether the paparazzi who remained in New York and Los Angeles have anything to do.

Our week started on Sunday, with the Carrie Fisher-hosted Obama Pajama Party, a benefit for the Pajama Program, an organization that puts toasty PJs into the hands of needy children throughout this great land of ours. Among the celebs we bumped into included Bruce Cohen, the producer of Milk and TV’s reigning prince of deadpan, Mo Rocca. Last night, inauguration eve, we headed over to the National Portrait Gallery for the second Green Gala in as many nights. This one, hosted by Vice President Al Gore himself, featured performances by Will.i.am, Maroon 5 (whose lead singer, Adam Levine, is pictured here, Melissa Etheridge and John Legend. Tonight’s big shindig is the Creative Coaltion ball, with a glittering guest list, including Anne Hathaway, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Sting, Maggie Gyllenhaal and a host of others. For more photos of the Pajama Party and the Green Ball, visit new york insider tv.

Anne Hathaway Teams Up With Netflix To Feed America

Filed under: campaigns, events, food & drink — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 11:50 am

anne_netflixThe super-talented, almost vegan, incredibly gorgeous Anne Hathaway spent yesterday excising a little of those goodwill muscles at the Renaissance Cafe at St. Aloysius School in Harlem

Hathaway kicked off a new campaign sponsorded by Netflix and Feeding America to help raise awareness and funds to combat the worsening hunger crisis in America.

Stars like Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck and Jessica Alba have also got involved by pledging their time to create holiday-themed artwork that will adorn Netflix gift subscriptions this holiday season, proceeds from which will be donated to Feeding America.

In addition, each actor’s work will be featured in a limited-edition Netflix Holiday Gift Box, a red, velvet-lined commemorative showcase featuring an individually signed and numbered print and a lifetime membership to Netflix. Only 100 boxes have been produced and and each cost 5,000 big ones! Of course, one hundred percent of the $5,000 donation will go to Feeding America and is equivalent to providing 80,000 meals to those in need this holiday season. Good deal!

Anne Hathaway Auctions Off Charity Date For $12,000

Filed under: donations — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 6:16 pm

A blushing Anne Hathaway stood on stage during the Cracked X-mas Fundraiser in Los Angeles Sunday night and decided to auction off a date for charity. “I’m not usually very forward, but I thought if there was ever a crowd for me to do something like this, this is my crowd so I would like to auction myself off,” Hathaway announced, “for drinks somewhere fabulous and basically get you totally s— faced. Tell me what I’m worth.”

By now you know that answer: $12,000. “I’m blushing,” Hathaway said during the bidding process. “Wow, I feel really good right now.” Three fans ended up winning the date — with all of the proceeds going towards the Trevor Project, a crisis helpline for LGBT youth.

$12K to get s—faced with Anne Hathaway? Sounds like a good time to me — as long as she’s buying. (grin)

The Green Quote: Anne Hathaway Gives Up Meat And Fish

Filed under: food & drink, green and famous, television — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 9:50 am

“When I was quitting smoking I thought ‘Ok this is probably a good time to make some changes’, so I quit drinking and I quit meat and fish - and fun.”

Anne Hathaway on the David Letterman Show talking about breaking some old habits. While here at Ecorazzi we never encourage giving up fun, saying no to smokes and animal products is always a groovy thing!

Eminem And Kid Rock To Rap Battle For Charity

Filed under: events, music — sara @ 9:16 am

The producers of the new documentary Rap Therapy, a film about using hip-hop as a tool to steer teens away from violence, have challenged Eminem and Kid Rock to a freestyle rap battle. The winner gets to donate $1 million to the charity of his choice.

Other celebrities featured in the documentary include 50 Cent, Diddy, Anne Hathaway, Fergie, and Tom Cruise.

Between womanizing, violent lyrics and fur-wearing sickness, I have to say that I’m not very attracted to this bit of news. But perhaps some good will come from these two kings of controversy facing off for charity.
