A new airport-themed PETA commercial has debuted featuring some familiar friends of the organization — but don’t expect to be seeing this one in the terminals. Yet.

The ad stars Pamela Anderson as a scantily clad airport security guard who strips passengers of leather, fur, and other animal skins. The commercial has been deemed too racy to run by CNN Airport Network. The quirky commercial, titled “Cruelty Doesn’t Fly,” also features comedians Steve-O, Andy Dick, and Carol Leifer, a pair of nude models, and German punk icon Nina Hagen.

Apparently, CNN was worried that kids might see the ad — which features some stripping, nude models’ derrieres, and some playful kissing. PETA, however, isn’t deterred and is attempting to court Virgin airlines to hopefully run with it. Check it out below:

Well Carol is continuing to speak out about veganism and even recorded a Veggie Testimonial for PETA. 

In the PSA she says: 

“I became a vegetarian. I’ve never felt better in my life. I have more energy. I am so much more alert. I lost 20 pounds — that’s right! I really, really recommend going vegetarian, what ever time in your life. Peace begins on your plate. I’m Carol Leifer and I’m a vegan. ”

We love the fact that not only is Carol rocking the VEG diet, but that’s she’s so outspoken about it. Looks like someone’s in the running for our favorite vegan celebs of 2010!

How many times have you sat around the house thinking, ” Gosh – I ‘d like to do more, but I really just don’t know how to take it to the next level?” Well good news — I’m about to open your peepers!

From July 24-27th, the best of the best will be heading to Arlington, VA to attend the Taking Action for Animals Conference –  the largest national conference for the animal protection movement.

According to their site, you’ll have the chance to “join advocates from around the globe to brush up on the basics, learn about the latest cutting-edge campaigns, and attend dynamic workshops that will help you improve your work for animals.”

And of course no badass event would be complete without a little celebrity action. Well-known folks in attendance include: Carol Leifer, Ginnifer Goodwin, Rep John Conyers, Rep Jim Moran and a special performance by Nellie McKay. We’ve featured Nellie before and give her the ultimate two thumbs up. We’ve never chilled with Ginnifer, but we’re excited to finally meet her (especially after titling her one our Top 5 Vegans of 2009)!
