Famous folks like John Mayer, Daniel Craig, Richard Branson, Steve Carrell, and many more have donated celebrity experiences to the organization, which are currently being auctioned at  CharityFolks.com. The fundraiser boasts over 100 “once-in-a-lifetime” prize packages, including:

Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Pele, Robin Williams, Prince William, Prince Harry, the Dalai Lama and others have teamed up with Prince Charles on a new video promoting conservation of the Rainforests. The 90-second clip features all of the participants standing next to — or holding — a computer-animated frog. “Our aim, with your help, is to build an online community to call, from the bottom up, for urgent action to protect the rainforests, without which we will most certainly lose the battle against catastrophic climate change,” Prince Charles said. Besides contributing to the reckless slaughter of animals, Craig is totally pissing off mother earth. Seriously? Flying in bacon from England? 

After hearing the news, the UK chapter of PETA decided to send the 007 star a treat of their own – veggie bacon! On their website, PETA says: “To be a hero on and off screen, we think Mr Bond should save animals’ lives and give the veggie variety of bacon a go! What’s more, he might not be aware that eating meat can make you sluggish in the bedroom: because meat can contribute to clogsing the arteries to all of a person’s organs, it can lead to a higher risk of heart disease, strokes and even impotence – a problem unlikely to affect the fictional James Bond.”

Daniel Craig (aka James Bond) will donate his watch to Children in Need – a charity program organized by the BBC to positively change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. The watch is just one of many prizes being auctioned, including a lap with Top Gear driver The Stig and tickets to the final of Celebrity Scissorhands.

Last year’s event raised $55,000 for the organization and included prizes like Rio Ferdinand signed football boots, a BBC Weather experience, and a stick of celery signed by Peter Davison as Doctor Who. Granted, I live in the States so I have pretty much no idea what any of that means, but I’m sure for people in the UK it’s a big deal!

The hotel is a front for the villain, Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric, the French star of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), a tycoon using a “Save the Earth” facade to hide his plan to seize control of part of South America’s water supply.”

Oh, snap! So Mr. Greene isn’t really “green”! Get it?!

Let’s hope this guy converts a solar concentrator or two into a laser beam or something — because seriously, we can’t do with another lame villain like that Elliott Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies. “I’m going to take over the world’s cable networks!” Oooh…scary!

If you thought James Bond, played by actor Daniel Craig, was leaving behind the days of driving small, fuel-efficient vehicles (as seen in the last Bond film), think again. In the opening chase sequence of the next film titled Quantum of Solace, Bond takes off in an entry-level three-door hatchback called the Ford Ka. Of course, nevermind the fact that Ford paid about € 22.5 million to be featured in Bond’s movies — or that the fuel-hungry Aston Martin shows up later. We’re just happy to be seeing something high on the MPG side of things making a cameo — and saving the world. From the article,

Chef Jaime Oliver raised more than $456,000 at a dinner last night for his Fifteen Foundation. The organization helps train unemployed young people to become chefs and work in the restaurant business. Oliver will use the money to build a training kitchen above Fifteen to help the local community, and increase the number of apprentices each year to 45. [via Bloomberg]

U2 frontman Bono is joining artist Damien Hirst in organizing a charity art auction at Sotheby’s for Valentine’s Day ‘08. Expected to go under the hammer are pieces by Jeff Koons, Jasper Johns, Matthew Barney, Georg Baselitz, Cecily Brown and Douglas Gordon. All of the art presented will revolve around the RED theme and benefit HIV/AIDS relief programs in Africa. Sotheby’s expects the auction to raise more than $40 million dollars.
