You can use their online carpooling service to get to the venue, and now, when you hit the parking lot at the Dave Matthews Band concert this summer, keep your eyes open for customized recycling stations. Every time you throw in a bottle or can, you are automatically entered for a chance to win a ticket upgrade to the front row!! Nice! Nothing like a smoking hot incentive to get people to take action.

These stations have me wondering though. When you recycle, you are issued a ballot with a code and web address. You can enter after the show your vote for the top three songs from that night’s show, which will be placed on a live digital album at the end of the tour. Hmmm? I hope it’s not “recycle a can, get a piece of paper”. I”m guessing they’ve thought this through and it’s all good. I hope to be there next month at the Gorge in Washington State checking out the greening. “What would you say?”

[Update: We received some additional information on those ballots people receive for their recycling. "The ballot cards that people are getting are made with post consumer materials, soy ink and they are the size of a business card. They are completely recyclable." Awesome.]

So in the spirit of el verde Billboard Magazine has dedicated their entire March issue to all things green, including a list of the top 10 greenest musicians. Billboard says, “The Top 10 green musician activists from the past year were chosen by overall positive impact on the environment; the extent to which the artist integrates a green approach into all aspects of his/her career; perceived sacrifice of choices; and trailblazing nature/originality of ideas.”
