On Saturday, May 9th, Kris Carr will be hosting a detox and cleansing workshop at Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation and we want to see YOU there!

The workshop is scheduled to feature Michael Perrine who will give an in-depth look at detox and cleansing, followed by Donna Perrone who’ll share her hydrotherapy expertise. Denise Mari from Organic Avenue will also be on site to talk about her LOVE fast. Bow-chicka-bow-wow!

At the end of day, you’ll have a chance to ask Kris, Donna, Michael, and Denise your burning questions during the Q & A panel.

What a huge victory!!! Donna Karan (aka “The Bunny Butcher”) has put down her knife for good after being “gently” persuaded by PETA to go fur-free.

Karan just announced that her fall 2009 lines will be fur-free and that she has “no plans” to use fur in the future! This victory came literally days after PETA launched their (now offline) DonnaKaranBunnyButcher.com website and after mega–fashion guru Tim Gunn sent Karan and designer Giorgio Armani a video that he narrated for PETA, urging them to open their eyes to the violent and bloody fur industry.

Now listen, I certainly don’t support EVERY decision PETA makes, but it’s times like this when all of us owe the notorious animal rights group a great big thank you for their service. It’s obvious that without their pressure Donna Karan would still be using fur! Thanks, guys!

Our buddies over at PETA have just released an exclusive video Q&A with Project Runway host Tim Gunn in an effort to convince designers like Donna Karan (boo) and Giorgio Armani (double boo) to ditch their cruel ways.

“Any designer in the fashion industry who does not want to watch the PETA video and see exactly what happens to animals and how they’re treated and how the product that they use comes to the marketplace I believe is egregiously irresponsible,” says Tim. “It is critically important that we all be educated about these matters and then make choices.”

Donna Karan thinks bunnies are cute…on her jackets!!!

The word on the street is that PETA has officially launched a full-fledged attack on the fur-loving designer who once promised to never use the cruel product again.

This isn’t the first time animal-lovers have given Donna a headache. You might remember earlier this year when the Paint Panthers launched a spray-paint attack on Donna’s property or later when some angry activists disrupted her fashion show with a fur-free protest.

As much as I hate fur, I NEVER condone violence or destruction of property to prove a point. However, campaigns and boycotts have never hurt a brotha, so please join me and thousands of others who are boycotting Donna Karan, until she permanently removes all fur from her collections.

The Donna Karan fashion show in Bryant Park was pretty much ruined yesterday morning when PETA members pounced on stage with signs reading, “Donna: Dump Fur.” Yes friends,Karan has managed to once again thoroughly piss PETA off by not only using fur, but using fur after she promised not to. Ouch!

As you’d expect the protestors were taken off stage and arrested, but don’t think that’s gonna stop anyone! PETA is famous for their tenacious efforts to end animal abuse and whether you like their tactics or not (I’m somewhere in the middle), you can bet they’re not stopping anytime soon.

An animal rights group known as the Paint Panthers launched a full on graffiti attack outside of fashion designer Donna Karan’s New York home. The group sprayed abusive messages on the streets surrounding her Hamptons property- including “Bunny Butcher”, a reference to her use of fur in her creations.

When asked to comment, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals — a long-time critic of Karan’s use of fur — denied any knowledge of the attack. However, PETA’s president Ingrid Newkirk said: “If Donna Karan stopped making clothes out of tortured bunnies, we’d be out of her life faster than you can say, ‘Yoga mat’.”

Like I said earlier, FUR SUCKS! Fur is so the opposite of cool I could spit…and I might, but what I won’t do is grab a can of fizzy colors and deface public property to try and prove my point. Come on guys – don’t embarrass the movement.
