Named “Elton Brand and Friends Celebrity Weekend,” the event is scheduled to include a fashion show, a yacht dinner and cruise, a celebrity golf day, and dinner with a celebrity on every team.

Brand launched the Foundation in 1999 (when Brand was Rookie of the Year) to help causes he supports in Chicago, Peekskill, and Durham, North Carolina. Organizations he chooses in these communities support after-school education programs, promoting kids’ participation in sports, and single parents. He chose to give grants to these areas because they are where he’s lived and played.

Now that’s giving back to the community!
