Hayden Panettiere Is The Eye Of The Whale In D.C.

Filed under: animals, campaigns, politics — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 10:47 am

Hayden Panettiere joined a few hundred other activists in forming a giant human pilot whale beside the message “VOTE,” yesterday in front of the U.S. Capitol building.

According to the organizers, the pilot whale symbolizes the tens of thousands of whales and dolphins killed each year by Japanese fishermen and the event commemorates the one-year anniversary of Hayden’s actions in Taiji, Japan, where she paddled out with protesters on surfboards to protect a pod of pilot whales who had been captured by fishermen for slaughter and for sale to aquariums.

As a spokesperson for the Save the Whales Again! campaign, Hayden is adamant that people in the U.S. concerned for the future of these creatures vote next Tuesday for the candidate that will do the most to protect them.

Milo Ventimiglia Admits He’s A Proud Born And Bred Vegetarian

Filed under: food & drink, television — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 1:11 pm

Even my parents — who have always been supportive of my veganism — are shocked when I tell them that, “Yes, I plan on raising my kids vegan.” It seems that everytime I tell anyone about my veggie-child-rearing ideas, I’m forced to quickly explain just why a veggie diet is totally healthy for the youngins. But from now on I’m just gonna say: Milo Ventimiglia is a born and bred veg and he turned out alright!

That’s right, folks! Milo appeared on the Bonnie Hunt show this week and talked about his life-long vegetarian status and how his parents have rocked the herbivore lifestyle for 40 years — even his dog was a vegetarian!

Now it’s no secret that Milo is dating another one of our favorite plant-eating green stars — Hayden Panettiere — who, as Ecorazzi previsouly reported, will be logging some activist time in DC this weekend fighting the good fight! You go girl!

To hear Milo in his own words, check out the video below!

Hayden Panettiere To Lead Whale Rally In D.C. On Sunday

Filed under: animals, campaigns — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 10:43 am

Hayden Panettiere is once more headed to Washington, D.C. to fight on behalf of whales — and this time she’s bringing hundreds of additional supporters.

The 19-year-old actress will lead participants in an aerial art event and rally to form a giant human pilot whale beside the message “VOTE,” in front of the U.S. Capitol building this Sunday, October 26 at 12:30pm. Hayden will serve as the whale’s “eye” in the shot.

The event commemorates the one-year anniversary of Hayden’s actions in Taiji, Japan, where she paddled out with protesters on surfboards to protect a pod of pilot whales who had been captured by fishermen for slaughter and for sale to aquariums. The actress was later issued an arrest warrant by the Japanese government.

“I turned 18 last year and I’m going to make my first vote count,” says Hayden. “I am looking forward to my visit to Washington to talk to those who will be voting in the upcoming election, to stress the importance of knowing where the candidates stand on the issues that are most important to them, and to be sure that come November 4th, they will actually go out and vote to ensure that their voices are heard.”

You can bet the plight of whales will most certainly weigh on Panettiere’s choice of candidate — though, based on a recent video, we’re pretty sure she’s decided not to vote for John McCain. We imagine Sarah Palin’s track record with animal conservation probably also has something to do with it.

Hayden Panettiere Gets Muzzled By Jessica Alba In New Vote Clip

Filed under: politics — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 11:05 am

Yesterday, we published a new photo of Jessica Alba nude, muzzled, and looking pretty darn sad. It’s all part of the “interesting” ad campaign by the organization Declare Yourself to encourage people to get out and vote. But it doesn’t just end with print media. As we saw earlier in the week, they’re also spreading viral videos — as evidenced by the fantastic “Don’t Vote” celeb montage.

This latest one is a bit different and heavy on the camp. It features Alba posing as a Home Shopping Network host showing off the new Muzzler 2008 — available for only $19.99! She’ll even come and personally slap it on your face. Wow!

Anyways, Hayden Panettiere also makes an appearance as a surgically-enhanced Muzzler. Good luck making it through the entire video. Have a look below:

Hayden Panettiere Refuses To Donate Underwear To Save The Whales

Where's her dedication?

Filed under: animals, donations — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 11:43 am

Hayden Panettiere has runied the dreams of creepy stalkers everywhere and drawn the line at what she’ll donate to save the whales. For her new charity website, Panettiere Closet, the actress has been throwing up her used clothing in an effort to raise money for the “Save The Whales Again” campaign — a partnership between The Whaleman Foundation and the Animal Welfare Institute.

Hayden’s mom, however, was a little too eager to throw up just about anything from her daughter’s warddrobe. “You acquire a lot of stuff so I decided to put it on the website,” she told the BBC in an interview. “Mom pulled out some embarrassing stuff, but I’m like, ‘Just don’t pull out my underwear!’”

According to the website, Panettiere is planning a huge summer blowout of inventory soon. If you’ve been yearning to help out some great organizations, while also touting some duds from the Heroes actress, now is your chance! Visit the official site here.

Hayden Panettiere Can Return To Japan After Whale Hunting Protest

Filed under: animals, events — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 2:59 pm

Remember a few months ago when Ecorazzi told you that Hayden Panettiere was issued an arrest warrant in Japan and was no longer allowed in the country?  In case you don’t, the whole thing started when Hayden joined animal rights activists in a protest against the slaughtering of dolphins in the historic whaling town of Taiji, Japan. Yeah, we think that’s pretty awesome too!

Well good news to those all those Japanese Hayden fans! The Hollywood Hottie has just been given the all-clear to return to the country by Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura. In fact, he has personally welcomed her back to the country, telling her she has nothing to fear.

Panettiere told HollyScoop.com, “I think they did it (issue an arrest warrant) to pretty much scare us from coming back. I went and had a meeting with the Foreign Minister and he said I was welcome anytime. Very kind man. Very welcoming, and he said I was his most welcome guest, so there’s a shocker.”

That IS a shocker! Hey Hayden, just make sure they’re not giving up the whale hunt for the adorable American actress hunt.  Stay safe, ya hear?!
