Obviously the gay community is upset by this legislation and over the past few months have organized a series of events to fight the proposition. Tomorrow many in the gay and lesbian community will stay home from work to participate in the Call in Gay campaign – an initiative modeled after similar work stoppages by Latino immigrants, to prove just how much the country relies on gays and lesbians.

To celebrate the success, Dreamworks Animation is partnering with Conservation International and giving a little something back to the pandas. The production team recently visited the Sichuan province where they spent time at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

There they had the chance to observe pandas playing in a natural habitat, made sketches and filmed the bears for later reference. Oh yeah, and they also donation $1 million to help with conservation efforts for the iconic bears. I mean, okay!

Comedian Jack Black was spotted riding his bike at Cold Water Canyon Park in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday. The 39-year-old recently announced that he’s working on an action spoof of The Bourne movies with the writers of his previous flick, Kung-Fu Panda. One of the writers, Jonathan Aibel said: “For our next live-action project, we knew we wanted to work with either a panda or Jack! We also figured that if we could write for Jack as a panda, we could write for him as a human.”

The United Nations is sending massive thanks to Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s Not On Our Watch organization — after the group donated $500,000 to rescue a UN Food Program that was at risk of shutting down completely. U.N. spokeswoman Bettina Luescher says, “We sent out a press release one day saying we were on the verge of closing it down and the next day we had $500,000. As part of the promotion for his latest animated film Kung Fu Panda, actor Jack Black has agreed to become this month’s guest editor for National Geographic Kids. In a hilarious video on the topic of pandas, the environment, and kung fu, Black answers a bunch of kids’ questions. Here’s our favorite: 

If you were elected President, what would be the first thing that you would do when you got into office?

“If I was President? Ok — the first thing I would do is spend half of the federal budget on combating the climate crisis. I would ensure that our entire country was as green as possible. There would be solar panels everywhere — the roof of ever house and the hood of every car. 

Then I would do away with school. All of it. It’s totally overrated — a waste of time. Except for Kindergarten. Because Kindergarten is fun. And it actually means ketchup in Chinese. And the 5th grade — 5th grade was fun. It was a blast. 

You know what? Forget it. I’m not doing away with school. It was a bad idea.”
