Greenpeace Channels James Bond With ‘CoalFinger’ Spoof

Evil villain also has seven nipples.

With the new James Bond film set to hit theatres — sporting an eco-villain no less –  Greenpeace is taking advantage of all the media hype to go after coal energy in a new spoof on the franchise. The animation aims to raise awareness about plans to build the first new UK coal fired power plant in 30 years at Kingsnorth in Kent. It is the first of seven coal-fired power stations that energy giants like EON want to build across the UK. The government currently backs the plans; despite the fact burning coal is recognized as the single greatest threat to our climate. Viewers are encouraged to sign up online to help Greenpeace campaign to stop the new stations going ahead. Check it out below! For a high-quality viewing experience, jump here.

The Green Quote: Bond’s Green Villain Is The Guy Next Door

“I always saw the villain as someone from next door,’ Forster explains. “There’s this ambiguity about Amalric that he could be anybody. Where Greene comes from isn’t explained. I thought it was more unexpected to cast an innocent-looking man for a character who is really creepy and dangerous. Greene has decent impulses: he cares about the environment, but at the same time wants to get rich through that. A lot of corporations do the same thing.”

–Director Marc Forster talking about Dominic Greene, the lead villain in Quantum of Solace played by Mathieu Amalric.

Clip: Little Ford Ka Saves The Day For James Bond

We’ve given quite a bit of press to the new Ford Ka — one of the auto stars of the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, and possibly one of the most fuel-efficient ever to grace that series. Now, Yahoo has released a brief clip of the Ka saving Bond’s ass and frustrating some dude on a motorbike. Check it out below:

Is James Bond Bringing Hydrogen Power To The Big Screen?

After Ford released some new photos of its Ford Ka — set to appear in the new James Bond film, Quantum of SolaceAutobloggreen spied some interesting clues that might point to hydrogen playing a role in the film.

We reported last week that 007’s leading lady was set to appear in the Ka — and at that time, all that was revealed about the vehicle was its fuel-friendly mileage and size. However, with these new pics, we now see that the front of the gold-colored Ka is emblazoned with stickers proclaiming that it’s running on hydrogen. On the side are also little decals that say “Greener Planet”.

Our take? Since the bad guy in the film is supposedly an eco-entrepreneur with an evil agenda, we wouldn’t be surprised if this car is somehow connected to his empire. Perhaps Bond’s gal Camille (by actress Olga Kurylenko) works for the bad green guys — and as a result cruises around in a hydrogen-powered Ka.

We could speculate all day, but we’ll save you the pain. Take a look at additional shots of the Ka here.
