First Band From TV DVD Available October 26

You may not have seen them strummin’ along, or even thought of them singing, but you’ve probably had Terri Hatcher or Hugh Laurie in your living room sometime in your life–on the TV, anyway. Combine these Desperate Housewives and House stars with fellow TV actors Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, Bonnie Sommerville, Adrian Pasdar, Jesse Spencer, and James Denton and you get Band From TV, the celeb octet dedicated to raising funds for their favorite charities through–you guessed it–song.

EcoRazzi has already told you about Heroes‘ Greg Grunberg’s dedication to the Epilepsy Foundation, a cause close to his heart; his oldest son has the disease. Other charities that benefit from Band From TV’s performances include Guiney’s cause, The Art of Elysium; Sommerville’s charity picks, the Child Abuse Prevention Program and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence; The Conservation Fund, Denton’s choice; Spencer’s Indiana University-Kenya Partnership; Pasdar’s pick, the Rush Medical Center Pediatric Epilepsy Unit; and Laurie’s cause, Save the Children.

Damn, that’s a lot of causes. While it’s not the first time non-musician celebrities have united through music for charity (have you heard of Stephen King’s band, the Rock Bottom Remainders, featuring Amy Tan, Dave Barry and a bunch of other popular authors?), it’s still a lot of star power for some really great organizations.

Oscar de la Hoya Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic to Kick Off Today

Oscar de la Hoya will be hosting his 9th annual Celebrity Golf Classic today at the Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, California. (What IS it with all these golf benefits? I can’t think of a more boring sport to watch, celebs or none, than golf. How about a celeb lacrosse benefit, eh?)

Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Oscar de la Hoya Foundation, a nonprofit that works to improve the quality of life of the people of East Los Angeles.

Celebrities at the event will include George Lopez, Bruce McGill, Kevin Nealon, Dennis Haysbert, James Denton, Jesse Metcalfe, Carlos Bernard, Eric Close, Ron Pearlman, Joe Mantegna, and others. To find out more, click here.

James Denton is Desperate For His New Eco-Electric Motorcycle

Desperate Housewives hunk, James Denton, likes to ride motorcycles in his free time. When he’s not acting in L.A. he hangs out at his house in Montana cruising around on his new Zero X Electric Bike. This dirt bike has zoom-zoom high power and is super light weight, without the pollution from a gas powered crotch-rocket.

The Zero X uses a high power Lithium Ion battery (non toxic!) for up to two hours of hardcore riding without losing any power. The power and torque (uh…not sure what torque is) is supposedly extraordinary, but the coolest thing is the silence. It was kind of bizarre watching a video of James ripping around his property because there was almost no sound. Nope, none of that noise pollution we’ve all come to expect when we see a dirt bike zipping by. Pretty cool, pretty quiet.
