The stars came out in costume this weekend for the 16th annual Children Affected by Aids Foundation’s Dream Halloween event. The goal of the night, which also includes fundraising, is to create an experience that exemplifies what every child would dream of when celebrating Halloween. Celebs in attendance included Jamie Lee Curtis as a flower child (who also arrived in her hydrogen-powered Honda Clarity), Daryl Hannah as a cat, Hilary Shephard as Dorothy, and Noah Cyrus and Emily Grace Reaves as, well, I’m not sure. It’s easy to forget the complexity of this planet and every single piece of the process that it takes to keep our lives how we like them. This looks like a much needed international perspective.

The producers say, “If you care about your food, water, the air you breathe, your health and happiness… it’s time to see DIRT! the Movie, roll up your sleeves for action and Get Dirty.” Check out their website for ways to get involved with spreading the word about important changes that can be made at the highest levels. This coming October in Los Angeles, the first-annual Noble Awards will take place honoring charities and the celebrities that support them. Ten non-profit charity organizations will be honored during the Noble Awards ceremony; including The Art of Elysium, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, DoSomething.org and The Epilepsy Foundation.

According to the official (and lite-on-details) website, the show will blend live musical entertainment with celebrity appearances; providing “an international platform to bring awareness of non-profits and their causes to the greater public.” Looktothestars.org drops some tidbits that Alicia Keys and Heroes’ Greg Grunberg will be involved — as well as the interesting note that Antonia Banderas designed the NOBLE award.

We have no official list as of yet which celebrities will be honored, but the website appears to hint at Jessica Biel and Jamie Lee Curtis getting some love. The show will run October 18th, so look for more right here as we get it.

Well now there’s finally a party worthy of your Halloweenyness! On Saturday, October 25th, the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation will be holding its 15th annual Dream Halloween event in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis and will honor Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith. Furthermore, Wilmer Valderrama, Jason Priestley, Melina Kanakaredes, and Doris Roberts are getting involved by chairing the event! Joe Cristina, founder of CAAF, says:

“World-wide there are more than two million children living with HIV and an additional 15 million who have been orphaned due to AIDS. Events like Dream Halloween Los Angeles allow us to raise critical funds to support these children in need. Our gracious sponsors, event attendees, performers and volunteers have helped us to raise more than $30 million since our inception in 1993.”

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, director Christopher Guest, have finally received delivery of their new Honda FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The celebrity couple is the second pair to take ownership of the new vehicle after film producer Ron Yerxa and Annette Ballester. Looks like Honda is taking a page out of Toyota’s book in getting this car into Hollywood hands first. 

“I really wasn’t expecting it to be so luxurious,” said Curtis. “It’s luxurious, luxurious, luxurious! I love the interior layout, design and access to controls. It is user-friendly and very modern.”

While the Clarity is the first publicly available hydrogen-powered vehicle to hit the market, don’t go rushing off to buy one at your local dealership. The cars are only being leased from three dealerships in Southern California — and even then are in limited quantities and cost above $600/month. 

Still, it’s great to see a hydrogen vehicle actually available to anyone with the cash to afford it — one of the reasons why the Clarity landed on our recent list of Top 5 Green Cars Hollywood Will Be Driving Tomorrow. 

Now if the world can just figure out a less energy-intensive way to produce the hydrogen for these vehicles, we’ll be psyched. If it worked for Jack 30 years ago, (hydrogen produced by solar energy), it can work today.
