Pamela Anderson’s Reaction To Jessica Simpson’s Meat Shirt? “She’s A Whore.”

Oh. Snap.

Filed under: animals, food & drink — michael @ 7:35 pm

The “Real Girls Eat Meat” controversy just will not go away.

A few weeks back, we showed a photo of Jessica Simpson wearing a shirt that said “Real Girls Eat Meat.” We weren’t sure if it was a slam on vegetraian-lovin’ ladies or just a remark towards a woman’s choice in sexual partners. Either way, soon enough PETA jumped on this quickly rolling snowball and denounced Simpson’s tee — followed by some interesting play that the shirt might be a jab at Tony Romo’s ex-girlfriend Carrie Underwood, who happens to be a vegetarian. Still following along?

Bill O’Reilly then come out of right-field and called Simpson “a Patriot” for “standing up to totalitarianism”, aka PETA. In reaction, both sides of this refusing-to-die debate threw up their hands and shouted, ‘WTF?’

Now — PETA heavweight Pamela Anderson is weighing in. During a recent interview on an Australian radio show, Anderson took the opportunity to express her feelings on the situation. “I think she is a bitch and whore. Actually, I don’t know if she was talking about food or men.”

(Don’t worry Pam, neither does anyone else.)

Anderson concluded the interview saying that she was proud of not eating meat. “I think it’s healthy, good for your body and good for the environment.” Ahh! Warm fuzzies all around…

Bill O’Reilly Calls Jessica Simpson A Patriot For Meat T-Shirt

Filed under: green and famous — michael @ 12:49 pm

Wow. Little did we know how massive this whole “Real Girls Eat Meat” t-shirt would become. Last weekend, we posted the image of Jessica Simpson flashing the slogan and commented on how one might interpret it as a dig on vegetarians. Others noted the sexual innuendos potentially associated. Either way, there was a great deal of anger, joy, sadness, and debate.

With PETA opening its guns on the topic, the story received even more press. Finally, Bill O’Reilly chimed in on the matter, calling Simpson a “patriot” for standing up to totalitarianism. Yes, a patriot. And yes, PETA has taken over the government.

Check out the video from FOX News here…

PETA Freaks Out On Jessica Simpson Over Real Girls Eat Meat Shirt

Filed under: animals, fashion, not green — parrish @ 8:57 am

Oh man did I not call this? DID I NOT FRIGIN CALL THIS PEOPLE?!! On Saturday Ecorazzi told you that Jessica Simpson was seen at the LAX airport wearing a shirt that read “Real Girls Eat Meat.” In the post I predicted that “you just know PETA’s gonna spit when they see this.” Well PETA is spitting alright…spitting a whole bunch of plant-based venom.

PETA released a statement saying: ”Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken of the sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food.” Ouch!

Some of our readers suspect that Jessica wore the shirt to piss off Tony Romo’s ex-girlfriend…also known as Carrie Underwood. Carrie is famous for her vegetarian lifestyle and once said: ”If you told me I could never sing again, I’d say that was horrible, but it’s not my life. If you told me I could never be around animals again, I would just die.”

Everybody knows that PETA is a PR powerhouse and Lord knows I wouldn’t want to be on their bad side. So good luck Jessica! You can’t say we didn’t warn you!!

I mean really? I mean REALLY? Ya’ll just know PETA’s gonna spit when they see this!

Jessica Simpson was photographed Friday at the LAX airport proudly sporting a “Real Girls Eat Meat” t-shirt. GROSS!!! Now I’m all for having your own opinions, but if you’re a celebrity you know your junk is gonna be photographed, and what better way to turn an entire community against you then to wear a shirt like that.

So listen up all you kick-ass vegetarian celebrities who read this blog — it’s time for action. Stop over to cafepress.com or herbivoreclothing.com and get yourself some deliciously outspoken vegan garb to be photographed in. The first celeb we see sporting a pro-vegetarian shirt will get a special Ecorazzi salute and I will personally write an article detailing your essential badassness! It’s time to fight fire with fire!

And Jessica let’s face it — the career ain’t doing so well. Do you REALLY think you can afford to jeopardize your fan base even just a little?

U.S. Troops Weigh In On Jessica Simpson’s Iraq “Publicity Stunt”

Filed under: campaigns — michael @ 9:04 am

simpson.jpg

Regardless of the entourage reports and costs associated with Jessica Simpson’s trip to Iraq, the end result should be how she brought some cheer to the troops serving there, right? Well, according to some U.S. military personnel present at the concert, Simpson was a disappointment — acting more like a “diva” than someone there under their own volition to lend a helping hand. “It was a promotional event for Tom Anderson, Myspace, (and) Jessica, at the expense of the taxpapers,” said one soldier named Paul. “She and the PCD’s (Pussy Cat Dolls) didn’t leave a very good impression with the troops.”

Another solider named Joel thought DJ Z-Trip, Carlos Mencia, Metal Sanaz, Disturbed and Filter were more than accessible to the troops. Echoing similar feelings by Paul, he thought Simpson and the Pussycat Dolls left a bad impression. “The Pussy cat dolls and Jessica Simpson were there just for the publicity. Yes it was good for them to actually come out for it — that was awesome — but they only did it for publicity. Find one pic of any of them with a soldier or troop other than them serving chow at the chow hall. Which what Paul says they did for only 5 minutes.”

Another commenter named Stephanie said her brother serving in Iraq was dismayed by Simpson’s refusal to meet and greet troops while the Pussy Cat Dolls were. “My brother is in Kuwait and he said she acted like a diva. Refusing to come meet the soldiers while the pussycat dolls were meeting them so she was not in the same camera shot. She had many demands and her first priority was certainly not the troops it was more like her time to be “seen” with the troops.”

So there we have it — she could have been paid a zillion dollars, but at the end of the day, it was why she was there that was more important than anything else. Apparently, however, the “why” never figured into the equation as much as the photo opportunities and impressions of good will. Damn shame. Read the full comments by the troops here.

Jessica Simpson Operation MySpace Update: Did The Media Get It Wrong?

Filed under: events — parrish @ 10:01 am

Yesterday, Ecorazzi, and various other publications, flogged Jessica Simpson for racking up a huge bill during her Operation MySpace performance and for not giving much face time to the troops. Today, Jessica’s rep is telling People that we all got it wrong!

Jessica’s rep reports that she didn’t rent a jet or stay in a fancy hotel (as previously reported), but instead, flew commercial and slept in the barracks with the troops. She also denies reports that super-stylist Ken Paves (the 10,000 dollars a day guy) accompanied Simpson, and claims that Jessica “significantly scaled back her entourage.”  Finally, in response to reports that Jessica stayed for only a couple hours, the rep said: “She’s been with the troops all day. She’s had her meals with them.”

We here at Ecorazzi are a humble crew and are perfectly able to admit fault if we’ve overstepped the green line. So, assuming all of this new information is correct, we bow before the busty Texan and kiss those famous boots that were made for walking. Jessica, can we still be friends?

Jessica Simpson Charges Top Dollar For Operation MySpace Concert

Filed under: events, not green — parrish @ 8:59 am

It’s been reported that Jessica Simpson will be headlining the Operation MySpace concert, taking place in Kuwait this afternoon. But is Simpson’s appearance really worth it?

According to a source close to the Simpson camp, the cost for a private plane carrying Simpson and her entourage — which includes dad Joe, hairstylist Ken Paves, her personal assistant and a stylist — from L.A to Kuwait is a whopping $150,000. Other expenses include her stylist and makeup artist- each $6,000 a day! And her hairstylist, Ken Paves- $10,000 a day! So the question is: who’s picking up the tab?

A source revealed: “This isn’t a charity show. The people around Jessica aren’t donating their time or cutting their rates as if this was Jess’s charity Operation Smile. Someone is picking up the tab, and it’s not going to be Jessica.”

It’s estimated that Jessica will only spend three hours with the troops once the concert is over and then it’s back to the plane. So considering all the fuel wasted on getting her there, the high cost of the actual appearance, and the short amount of time spent with the troops, is all of this really worth it?

What do you think Ecorazzi readers? Is Jessica doing a good deed or a good deal? Hit that comment button and tell us your thoughts!

The HSUS Joins Charlotte Ronson and Keeps The Cat Off The Catwalk

Filed under: animals, campaigns, events, events: nyc, fashion, green and famous — parrish @ 3:21 pm

Good news, baby Ecos (that’s you)! The Humane Society Of The United States is teaming up with celebrity designer, Charlotte Ronson, on a fur-free mission during the 2008 New York Fashion Week.

In the past, Ronson has designed for celebrities like Lindsey Lohan, Kate Moss, Jessica Simpson and Gwen Stefani, but until recently she was rather indifferent on the whole fur issue. Then, last November, Ronson attended The HSUS’  “Cool vs. Cruel” awards ceremony and quickly joined the ranks of such renowned designers as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and Tommy Hilfiger by saying “Hell frigin NO!!” to “fashionable” fur!

Ronson takes the cruelty-free lifestyle a step further by giving out HSUS fur-free buttons in her downtown NYC store. Plus, during fashion week, she will be attaching red heart-shaped “No Fur” buttons to each of her faux fur jackets.  So PETA members, listen up: if you see someone walking down the street in a fur coat, do not-I repeat-DO NOT spray paint, pee on, or light it on fire until you’ve checked for the red heart-shaped fur-free button. Got it?

If I’ve tickled your fancy with all this faux fur banter, then you should totally check out her show on Monday, February 4th, at 3:00 pm at the Altman Building (135 West 18th St.) right here in NYC!!  Oh yeah, and tell them Ecorazzi sent you!
