Besides the dairy industry’s super cruel rep, dairy has a HUGE carbon footprint and isn’t even good for you. We give a big thumbs down to this one!

Fox televised the ceremony and partnered with VW to promote the 2009 Jetta TDI Clean Diesel, which uses high-performance, low-sulfur diesel fuel. Yes, this means lower emissions and particulates, but zowie the cost of diesel is outrageous and the mpg is only rated at 30 city/41 highway! At least this is better than hauling everyone around in gas-sucking stretch limos.  

Katharine McPhee, Jordin Sparks, Chace Crawford, and other stars arrived in the green machine and signed a car hood which will be auctioned off to benefit City of Hope, a cancer research, treatment, and education center. Earlier in the year Ecorazzi reported that a bevy of teen stars participated in the Chevy Rocks The Future event to show their support for hybrid living. Isn’t it time you went green? Come on, all the cool kids are doing it!

Rumors over eco-couple Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr’s breakup have apparently been exaggerated. “I realize there is an interest in people who are in the spotlight, but I just can’t believe how far from the truth it gets,” Kerr’s mother said. “Miranda and Orlando have never been closer and are happier right now more so than ever. In Santa Monica Amy Smart, Juliette Lewis and Edward Norton took part. In New York bands like The Bacon Brothers and Ricky Saggs and Kentucky Thunder put on the show. Miami was entertained by Menudo, in Dallas Martin Sexton kept it real and Jordin Sparks sang her face off in Washington D.C

The weekend was a success and billed as “America’s largest Earth Day celebration” with 500,000 people expected to have attended. Were you at the show? If so, tell Ecorazzi how awesome it was (or how un-awesome it was). We want to hear from you!!!!

Meat grilling aside, it’s always exciting for me to see some of my favorite country music bumpkins twanging away for the sake of charity. It’s recently been confirmed that Faith Hill and Collin Raye will be among the many celebrity performers at Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night XIV, April 4th & 5th, at the J.W. Marriott Desert Resort in Phoenix, AZ.

Celebrity Fight Night is a highly regarded, nationally recognized charity event where celebrities and athletes come together to participate in live musical performances by some of today’s hottest stars. The money raised at the event will benefit the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, as well as many other noble charities.

Other performers include John Mellencamp, Dionne Wrwick, Jordin Sparks, Fantasia, and Sinbad. (I frigin love Sinbad. Where did he go?) The event will also honor Kevin Costner, Clive Davis, Reba McEntire,and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Got about two grand to spare? Well then get your non-leather boots, hemp cowboy hat, and electric pick up truck and four wheel it on down to Celebrity Fight Night and tell us how it was!

The 1,415-pound ball will be covered in more than 9,500 energy-efficient light-emitting diodes that will illuminate the ball’s over 600 crystals and set the sky a blazin’.  Officials (whatever that means) say that the LEDs are estimated to use the same amount of electricity as about 10 toasters, which is like the craziest, most super cool thing I’ve ever heard.

As always, my precious little city will rock New Years eve celebrity style with musical performances by Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Lifehouse, The Bravery, and alums from Fox TV’s American Idol, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis. 

So take that N train downtown and come celebrate the end of 2007 with the lot of us. Did I mention Hannah Montana will be there?
