Forget the black tie requirements and high heels! The kind of party you want to go to is the one where even Hugh Hefner would feel at ease in a smoking jacket and pajama bottoms. Thankfully, if you have $300 handy (and in this economy, who doesn’t!?), you can party like its a middle school sleepover at the Obama Pajama Party Inaugural celebration on January 18th.

Hosted by Star Wars alum Carrie Fischer, the evening will benefit the Pajama Program, a non-profit organization that delivers warm sleepwear and nurturing books to children in need, many of whom are waiting to be adopted. Expected guest include Marisa Tomei, Keira Knightly, Russell Simmons, LL Cool J, MTV VJ Lala and Fonzworth Bentley. Guests are invited to wear pajamas or black tie, nightgown or ball gown.

We’re not sure if dinner will be pizza (a traditional stable for sleepover parties), but if you’re game, a VIP table for ten is only $10,000. Trust us, you’ll be the coolest kid in school the next day if you can float that.

She said: “I wanted to be part of this film for Amnesty to help raise awareness of the UDHR and to help them, in a small way, to campaign against the abuses of human rights that are still happening every day. It seems that ‘human rights’ has become a bit of a loaded term in this country, but if you look at the declaration that countries made 60 years ago, it just sets out a series of basic rules about how people should treat each other. The UDHR is something that every one should be aware of and be proud of as a statement of our common humanity.”

So far, only the above picture of Knightley holding a “Protect The Human” banner has been released. However, there is a video on the site in support of the campaign featuring celebrities like Jared Leto, Rosario Dawson, and others. Have a look below:

Jessica Alba is supporting the cause. Along with Revlon and In Style, she is offering supporters of Rainbow Trust a chance to win a Chloe bag she has personally signed.

Other celebrities are also joining in: Keira Knightley, Elle McPherson, Claudia Schiffer, Thandie Newton, Sharon Osbourne and Eva Green are auctioning personal handbags as well, on November 4 at a charity tea event in The Berkeley hotel ballroom.

In Style editor Trish Halpin says, “This is going to be a fun, uber glam event which will raise lots of money for an incredibly good cause. After all – what woman doesn’t want a fantastic handbag?”

After performing at the Rio De Janeiro leg of Live Earth, rocker Lenny Kravitz almost decided not to come home. The musician planned on staying for a week, but ended up living for four months on a remote farm. Said Kravitz, “There was no stress, less time spent on decisions. Pink may have led the media blitz, but musician Chrissie Hynde led the rally for a PETA protest in Central Park to encourage tourists not to support the carriage-horse industry. “I got hitched to Jim Kerr (Simple Minds) in a horse drawn carriage in New York. The marriage didn’t last and I hope the carriages meet the same fate.” [via PETA]

Finally, this is not green — but I found it hilarious. Comedian Sarah Silverman gave significant other Jimmy Kimmel a video-gift for the 5-year anniversary of his Jimmy Kimmel Live show. For those that don’t know, there’s a running joke on the show where Matt Damon is continuously insulted in various, creative ways. Let’s just say, Matt has had the last laugh. Check it out here.
