The always adorable Kristin Davis showed off some green wheels last night at the Hollywood, CA premiere of Sex and the City at the Arclight Cinema. Joining the likes of Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and Cameron Diaz, Davis showed up in the BMW Hydrogen 7 — the world’s first hydrogen-powered car for everyday use.

As we profiled last week, Davis is a green-gal at heart with a brand new solar-powered home in LA. She has also done extensive work in Africa for Oxfam America to help alleviate poverty. Check out the photos below for more!

Razzi Snap: Charlotte’s Lingerie Is Made From All-Natural Bamboo

Filed under: fashion, green and famous, web — michael @ 2:35 pm

Since Kristin Davis leads the green life in reality, it would make sense that a bit of her character in Sex and the City would reflect that as well. Cosabella has created four distinct styles for each of ‘the ladies’, with Charlotte’s evening wear made from all-natural bamboo. We’ve no idea if she wears it in the movie, but we’re happy to see Charlotte getting her green sexy on. [More...]

Speaking of sex, a new survey by General Motors found that nine out of ten women would rather talk to a guy driving a Prius than a Porsche. It apparently will make you popular at parties as well. If you really want to get lucky though, show your significant other your compost pile. Oh yea, baby. Bom Chicka Bom. [More...]

Daryl Hannah’s new movie Shark Swarm premieres on the Hallmark Channel this weekend. As we mentioned previously, the plot revolves around tame sharks that are turned in man-eating killers because of secretly released toxins by a greedy corporate real estate developer. So awesome. [More...]

Finally, I thought I would point out a new green website that I’m enjoying called Earth First. It’s a brilliantly fun and bold take on the green movement — a bit like Grist, but turned up to 11. Basically, they don’t take any BS and are quick to throw it right back at anyone they feel isn’t measuring up to true green standards. My favorite headline of the day: “Wildlife Refuges are the Place to Go for Illicit Hookups“. Yes. Yes, they are. [More...]

Kristen Davis Has A Sexy Solar-Powered Home!

Filed under: buildings and construction, campaigns, cars-houses — michael @ 9:43 pm

My love for Kristin Davis is now a little deeper (right above stalking) after watching this clip from Letterman last night. The Sex and the City actress looked gorgeous and bubbled with cuteness over her new solar-powered home and work with Oxfam America. Pegging herself as someone who makes a lot of money and wants to give back, Davis talked about her new home — and how she can go off-grid at the flip of a switch .

“I’m off the grid. I have a ladder that I climb up and I check my solar panels. They cover the whole roof, in LA, where there’s a lot of sun. And when the sun is shining, you can go and look and your electrical meter and it’s spinning backwards! It’s very exciting — and I have batteries to store the power in, and when the power goes out in LA, which happens a lot, you throw this switch and you’re completely off the grid!”

So, Kristin isn’t really off-gird — she’s more grid-tied — but in the event of a blackout, she can prevent the power from entering the grid and live off her batteries for awhile. Not bad.

The 43-year-old actress also talked about her work with Oxfam America — in particular her fight against poverty and desire to visit every country in Africa.
