If you need another reason to cut back on meat, how about world hunger?”

Vegetarian Eco Race Car Driver Leilani Munter Teams Up With Ecobabble

Earlier this year we told you that veggie race car driver Leilani Munter was trying to get NASCAR go green! Well, it looks like she really does practice what she preaches.

Munter has teamed up with Ecobabble – a company dedicated to sustainability — to produce her racing merchandise.

Ecobabble will place a recycle bin in Leilani’s pit where fans can drop off their plastic bottles. The company will then use those bottles to manufacture 50/50 cotton/polyester t-shirts. Neat!

In a recent statement, Leliani said:

“I am excited to be working with Ecobabble to offer eco friendly merchandise. And I’d also like to thank Chicagoland Speedway for allowing me to have a recycle bin in my pit. Together we are teaming up to help make a greener world and I am just proud to be a part of it.”

Celebrity Driver Leilani Munter Wants NASCAR To Go Green

As a born and bred Floridian, I understand that for many people NASCAR is a deeply holy activity, second only perhaps to football or all-you-can-eat buffets.

When you think about NASCAR and other driving related sporting activities, the first words that pop into your head probably aren’t: eco, green or environment. But celebrity driver Leilani Munter wants to change all of that.

Munter describes herslef as a “carbon-free girl”, and a “vegetarian hippie chick race car driver,” and has started the Eco Dream Team — a green program that encourages NASCAR fans to become more environmentally-aware about their lifestyle and how it effects the world around them.

As previously stated, Leilani is a proud vegetarian and when you consider the fact that the meat-industry contributes more towards global warming than every mode of transportation combined, one could argue that she is technically more of an environmentalist than her bicylce-riding meat-eating counterpart.
