In the latest issue of Madison Magazine, model Miranda Kerr is featured wearing a very PETA-esque bikini made of leaves. Makes me reflect back on that lettuce actress Maggie Q wore to promote the vegetarian lifestyle.

Anyways, the current flame of Orlando Bloom say she’s a “hippie at heart” and works hard to reduce her impact. “I always pull plugs out of the wall when I’m not using appliances, ride my bike everywhere in New York and am passionate about organic food,” she told the magazine.

A few weeks back Kerr revealed her future plans saying, “Ten years from now hopefully I’ll be living in a solar-powered house with my vegetable garden out the back. And I’m hoping it will be somewhere that has a bit of countryside and a little bit of water — whether it will be a lake or an ocean — and hopefully I will have three children, a nice hammock and a big bathtub.”

According to the Hollywood Rag, Posh has been signed to become the face of designer Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2008 collection and he has persuaded her to be photographed naked with the image to be used on a range of his skin cancer charity T-shirts. Of course! From the article,

“A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘Victoria loves Marc’s work but she wasn’t entirely comfortable with getting naked. Marc went all-out to persuade her. And when she heard about what a great cause it was she knew she just couldn’t turn it down. The picture she and Marc have chosen is amazing – sexy but tasteful.’”

The Spice Girl will join other celebrities such as Julianne Moore, Dita Von Teese and Naomi Campbell, who all stripped for Jacobs’ T-shirts in 2006. That year, over $60,000 was raised for charity — and Jacobs is hoping even more will benefit this time around.

Pippa Black, a wildly popular Australian actress, has joined Maggie Q in adorning her beautiful body with veggies and promoting the vegetarian lifestyle in a new ad for PETA. The campaign — with the tagline “Let Vegetarianism Grow on You” — will run down under as part of PETA’s effort to curb animal factory farming and promote a healthier lifestyle. Australia has the second-highest obesity rate in the world (Guess who’s number one for fat fat fatties?) with nearly 60 per cent of adults and more than one-fourth of children considered to be overweight or obese. Said Pippa of her decision to participate,

“Of course, going vegetarian is a positive step to help stop animal suffering; it’s also great for your health and the environment”, says Black, who put her studies in animal technology on hold to pursue an acting career. “I just feel better since I stopped eating meat, and when you feel better, I think you look better too.”
