It’s been a great week here in D.C., with so many celebs running from party to party that I’ve got to wonder whether the paparazzi who remained in New York and Los Angeles have anything to do.

Our week started on Sunday, with the Carrie Fisher-hosted Obama Pajama Party, a benefit for the Pajama Program, an organization that puts toasty PJs into the hands of needy children throughout this great land of ours. Among the celebs we bumped into included Bruce Cohen, the producer of Milk and TV’s reigning prince of deadpan, Mo Rocca. Last night, inauguration eve, we headed over to the National Portrait Gallery for the second Green Gala in as many nights. This one, hosted by Vice President Al Gore himself, featured performances by Will.i.am, Maroon 5 (whose lead singer, Adam Levine, is pictured here, Melissa Etheridge and John Legend. Tonight’s big shindig is the Creative Coaltion ball, with a glittering guest list, including Anne Hathaway, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Sting, Maggie Gyllenhaal and a host of others. For more photos of the Pajama Party and the Green Ball, visit new york insider tv.

Now George Clooney is joining in the long line of People Against Prop 8. Here’s what he had to say:

“At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won’t be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.”

Other famous people against Prop 8 include Melissa Etheridge, Harvey Fierstein, and James Franco.

Harland Williams is also apparently against Prop 8, as he recently revealed that he voted for the Jolly Green Giant, whom he believes is gay. Check out the video here!

The Daily Green recently released a list of ten not-to-be-missed eco-friendly music tours this summer.

Radiohead is demanding that anyone on tour with them use water flasks. Doing everything they can think of to be environmentally friendly, they use bio-fuel in their buses, refuse to use airfreight, and their opening act, Liars, says “Plastic anything is like contraband.” Sounds like a good policy to me!

Jack Johnson, one of my fave green guitarists, has his own “eco village” at every venue he plays at. He keeps water efficient showers backstage, recycles on location with biodegradable bags, and even has leftover food sent to local food banks. Keep rocking, Jack.

Melissa Etheridge is selling eco-friendly goods at her concerts, plus giving fans some nifty tips to go green at her website.

To see the slideshow and the other seven tours with their dates, click here.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The Norwegian event (sounds cold) was hosted by Kevin Spacey and Uma Thurman with performers such as Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Melissa Etheridge.

Thurman explained, “The whole point is to raise awareness and communicate with everyone else in the world and share our concern for the planet.” Meanwhile, Kevin Spacey, the artistic director for London’s Old Vic Theatre, announced that next year they’ll be doing a show called, Go For Green, which is aimed to teach young children how to lead greener lives.

It’s no secret that celebrities are society’s trendsetters, and I’m always so impressed when I see some of my favorite actors and musicians going beyond the call of duty to stand up for a cause that’s oh so important. Now if you’ll excuse me, this boy is gonna go home and watch Kill Bill for the twenty-third time.

The 18-year old was interviewed by Blender magazine and when asked whether or not he wore underwear or went commando (a natural question…), he replied, “Underwear. I wear a new pair of drawers every day. I won’t wash my drawers and put ’em back on. I just throw them away.” Hmm..we think those are called diapers, Chris. Obviously, you’re still a little too young mentally to understand your impact. Thankfully, there are quite a few toddlers out there with reuseables that could probably teach you the difference. [via just jared]

Kylie Minogue has now been added to the list of performers scheduled to perform at the Dec. 11 Nobel Peace Prize Concert; otherwise known in jest as Live Earth II. The event will honor this year’s winners, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.’s climate change panel. Joining Minogue will be Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Juanes and Melissa Etheridge. Hosting the gig are Uma Thurman and Tommy Lee Jones. More than 100 countries will tune in for the event. [via starpulse]

The former V.P. plays a hybrid cab driver in the year 2012 that happily accepts a $100 offer from a time-traveling killer robot to race through the streets of Long Island. Yup. When Gore loses the robot (by way of hitting a dump truck and sending him flying) he mutters, “Dang. That $100 could have bought me one gallon of gas.” And I thought $3.50 for a gallon was nasty. Look closely and you’ll also notice Gore’s license plate reads, NOCO2.
