Last night, Global Green USA’s 5th Annual Pre-Oscar Party rocked out in grand style with a bevy of celebrities, performers such as Michelle Branch and Damien Rice, and a focus on the environment and sustainable design. While we had spies all over, we sent our main duo Pleasant Wayne and Damien Somserset to cover the action on the red carpet. That video is to follow shortly, but right now, here are some highlights from Pleasant:

1. Tate Donovan would ride his bike to the moon to work with Jennifer Aniston again. (old Friends co-star) He brought his bike on the “green” grass carpet and is a huge advocate for biking in the city.

2. Dana Delany had a non-eco PRADA purse, but said she recylces her scripts on the set.

3. Jason Lewis jetted past the press line and we think he was with his Mom. Aww…

4. Salma Hayek wore a Stella McCartney pantsuit because she said she is trying to lose the baby weight – “I’m not Nicole Richie, ha ha!”

6. Molly Sims was gushing about how Eco her boyfriend, Justin Chatwin, (from War of the Worlds) is….didn’t get her to speak as she was rushing into the party.

7. Sofia Bush would never date someone who isn’t into GREEN living. She was wearing earrings made of crystal stone and diamonds.

8. Taylor Dane was cool – she’s been taking her kids camping and teaching them how to live a softer-on-the-earth life even though she’s a New Yorker at heart. She has her heart set on a hybrid SUV.

9. Josie Maran was promoting her new all-natural cosmetic line – “Josie Maran Cosmetics”. She said her biggest passion was using eco-friendly diapers and gave some interesting facts about disposable diapers and landfills. She was with her friend, Rainbow, who was wearing a vintage dress and works with Adidas – they are working on developing some eco-gear.

10. Adrian Grenier whizzed past the “tabloid” section.

11. There was some speculation that Michelle Branch had a baby bump from our neighbor Press friends! She wasn’t interviewing as she had to perform.

12. Bill Mahr arrived very late and was driving a hybrid SUV.

13. Ian Somerhalder from “Lost” and many other projects eats organically and practices Yoga…what a cutie!

14. Thomas Ian Nicholas from American Pie etc. donates his time to children’s charities in addition to being active with Global Green.

More to come on this fantastic evening shortly!

I just caught the musical ONCE last night and was blown away by the music. Since I’m a fan of Damien Rice (one of the few musicians that can communicate the pain of heartbreak through song), I thought the lyrics and tunes were brilliant. Now it appears I’m ratcheting up my ‘envy’, since both Damien Rice and the stars of that film — artists Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova — will be performing along with Michelle Branch next week at Global Green’s 5th Annual Pre-Oscar Party. Our lucky Ecorazzi field reporters are in for a treat.

But it’s not just the music that will be making the evening. According to GG’s latest media alerts we can expect Salma Hayek, Adrien Grenier, Alicia Silverstone, Val Kilmer, Sophia Bush, Ginnifer Goodwin, Dana Delany, Balthazar Getty, Josie Maran, Chris Kattan, Nia Vardalos, Q’orianka Kilcher, Vanessa Branch, and many others to make an appearance. No word yet on Bloom or DiCaprio — a couple Global Green regulars — but keep your fingers crossed.

Saving Oscar week from completely being overtaken by GM’s fleet of pseudo-green SUVs, the organization will also have on hand the latest green cars –from those on the road today to those pushing the envelope. Line-up includes the Tesla Roadster, Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid (one of only two production vehicles), other plug-in Hybrids, Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles and more. They’ll also have a lineup of green design showcases that demonstrate the latest in sustainable building that “improve the health of families, lower energy costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

Should be an exciting evening. We look forward to bringing you all the what-went-down details.

Hit the official event site here.

This post comes to us from contributing field reporter, Amy Fritz.

Once again Global Green and the ecofabulous Zem Zoquin and Nadine Weil hosted San Francisco’s most glamorous green event, Gorgeous & Green, attended by some of Hollywood’s most beautiful and eco-conscious. Unlike events of late hosting “Green Hollywood” without heart, this event also had substance. Woven around a presentation of the impactful work Global Green is doing across the country, we heard from Stephen Jenkins (looking sexier than ever) talking passionately about politics and his latest efforts to further green his biodiesel tour bus and the equally hunky Jason Lewis sharing with us that he only buys green and organic products and is always looking for ways further green his life.

Both Stephen and Jason lambasted critics who say that the rocking green movement and continuing involvement by Hollywood’s A-list is a passing fad. Jason, says “That’s just stupid. With increasing awareness and more opportunities as individuals to live more sustainably without sacrifice, there is no going back. Stephen says “those critics will some day soon be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. For the true leaders,”—like his favorite presidential candidate, Barack Obama—”instead of being fearful of change, rather see opportunities, especially in industries like Clean Tech and greening our lives and businesses”.

The main event was an inspiring and sustainable catwalk lead by the gorgeous and green, Josie Maran. Josie shared how she was inspired to create her pure luxury cosmetic line. “I spent long hours in make-up chairs and when I was made aware of the amount of toxins in cosmetics, I was horrified.” Josie Maran’s cosmetic line and other fine organic beauty lines adored by Hollywood, such as Duchess Marden and Jane Iredele, were distributed to the who’s who crowd of SF A-listers and eco leaders in the regal, yet LEED certified, Bently Reserve.

The fashion show featured fantastic looks from luxury green designers Behar Shapar, Del Forte Jeans, Lara Miller and Linda Loudermilk, among others.

Other celebrity guests in attendance included Jason Behr, Michelle Branch and Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco.
