Back To The Basics With Mike Rowe

Filed under: video, web — lindsey @ 2:21 pm

While we’re all up on our roofs installing solar panels and tending to back yard gardens, plugging in our electric cars at night and brewing up the next batch of biodiesel, Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) reminds us of some of the most basic every day acts we can do to conserve energy.

“Call me a traditionalist I say when you walk out of a room you turn off the lights. When you walk out of a room you close the door. Don’t accelerate too quickly. Don’t break too quickly. Use the carpool lane. Say please. That won’t save energy but it will make people like you more.”

Sure, we may all know these tips like the back of our solar panels, but it’s a great reminder and something we can share with others to encourage them to wander down our green path.
