Recently, FN pundit Glenn Beck  interviewed Matt Prescott from PETA regarding comments Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly made regarding the connection between animal-agriculture and global warming.  

While I’d love to completely hate on the Beckster (cause it’s just so darn easy), I have to say that he wasn’t a TOTAL jerk throughout the interview. In fact, he gave Matt a pretty decent introduction. Beck said: 

“Here’ somebody who actually believes in global warming, and actually has the courage of his convictions and will change his life because of it — PETA spokesperson Matt Prescott joins me now.”

During the interview Prescott discusses how various studies — including the famous UN report in 2005 — have proven that animal-agriculture is the number one cause of global warming. Beck poses the question: “Why do you suppose the people like Al Gore – who is also not a vegetarian or vegan — why are they eating meat if they truly believe the world’s gonna come to an end in some sort of firey flood?” Good question, Glenn. We want to know that as well!

Prescott does a fantastic job with the interview and is above all well-spoken, polite and effective. Check out the whole clip below!

Last night’s fundraiser for the Waterkeeper Alliance was a complete success — and the Razz’s Melissa Rosenberg was on the scene to take some photographs and drop a few notes on the evening. Here are some of her observations:

“Many guests at the Lexus’ Eco Salon benefit for Waterkeeper Alliance drove up to the Chappaqua home of William Wachtel and Annie Zabar in their hybrid cars. Guests mingled throughout three rooms, viewing sustainably design luxury furniture showcased from Uhuru and discussing ways live a more luxury sustainable lifestyle and protect our waters”

“Chairman of Waterkeeper Alliance, Robert F Kennedy, Jr., gave a passionate speech touching on his faith in our new administration, and how we must invest in clean renewable energy to save our environment and create new jobs. The highlight of the evening was Grammy nominated musician, James Blunt who captured the intimate crowd with his talent singing four songs including his mega-hit “You’re Beautiful.” For more information on log onto http://www.waterkeeper.org/

At a fundraiser for the Waterkeeper Alliance last night, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. insisted that his photo be taken with very helpful valet staff. Kennedy drove his own Lexus hybrid to the event and wanted to share a moment with those working behind the scenes to help make the night a success. As Remy Chevalier said, “It was nice to see the guy in a different light, loose, in an atmosphere where he felt at ease amongst friends.”

To keep with the organization’s water stewardship mission, there was absolutely no bottled water allowed at the event, and every dish featured either something local, something organic or something sustainable. Chef David Garcelon, known for his sustainable cooking, said, “We’ve been able to please celebrities with what we have on the menu. They’re focusing on eating healthy, eating organic.”

The RBC donated $200,000 to Lake Ontario Waterkeeper at the event.
