In celebration of its third season premiering April 21st — featuring several new original series — the Sundance Channel has given THE GREEN a new, expanded web presence.

The slick design now features plenty of video — including some previews of shows like David de Rothschild’s ECO TRIP and Simran Sethi’s THE GOOD FIGHT. As an early bonus, Isabella Rosellini’s GREEN PORNO series now available on demand for free on the site. We especially enjoyed her latest “Why Vagina?”.

Of course, there are a few things THE GREEN has yet to reveal — such as Josh Dorfman’s new series THE LAZY ENVIRONMENTALIST. We imagine it’s because the visual effects budget — coupled with Dorfman’s unresonable demand for pure 02 at all times — has simply gotten out of control. That being said, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

The show is “is devoted to building awareness for the rapidly growing field of environmental justice” and will include a multi-media mix of webisodes, blogs and podcasts. I swear this woman never sleeps.

But here’s the thing — THE GOOD FIGHT needs your help. Producers are looking for stories of people just like you and me doing their part to help the environment and encourage a more sustainable lifestyle. From the article,

“This is a great opportunity to build awareness for your cause, group or work. But even if you don’t live in Los Angeles don’t despair. The best markers added to the Eco-mmunity Map will be included in THE GOOD FIGHT map marker group. We will be promoting this group throughout the spring and summer and hope that increased awareness of your story will translate into support and real world problem solving.”

“Climate change has no boundaries and we all have a shared stake,” commented Sethi. “THE GOOD FIGHT” is an attempt to illuminate areas people may not have considered in regards to environmentalism, such as water access, architecture and green-collared jobs. We’ve been made aware of saving the whales, saving the trees—we also need to be saving our communities.”

First up for the show is a visit to Greensburg, Kansas — the same town Leonardo DiCaprio is chronicling in the upcoming Planet Green series Greensburg.

Interested in telling your story? Jump here to send it in!

If you’re one of the 25 million or so that subscribe to The Sundance Channel, prepare to cuddle up on the couch tonight as season two of THE GREEN kicks off at 9PM et/pt. Our favorite hosts Simran Sethi and Majora Carter are back and ready to introduce us to a new buffet of original green programming on everything from climate change, energy, design, fashion and architecture.

I was fortunate enough to receive a few screeners of the documentaries and series coming over the next couple months and can’t say enough about the quality of the programming. My wife and I would throw in one disc expecting to only watch a bit and be completely sucked in for the evening. Everything from the impact of coal removal on mountaintops to the comeback of the nuclear power industry is presented in a fashion that educates while keeping you glued. That’s a pretty difficult thing for any documentary to pull off.

Our personal favorite series, Big Ideas For A Small Planet, is back for season two and was one of the first discs we threw in to watch. The format stays the same — quickly covering the green happening in some specific industries (design, fashion, water) — while also introducing some new/familiar faces. David Suzuki and Rachelle Carson make appearances — while a few friends of the Raz such as Josh Dorfman and Danny Seo also lend their advice and experience.

Beyond the shows, Sundance is also heavily promoting season two with a bunch of contests and giveaways. The first one, “What’s The Big Idea?” involves submitting a one-minute short film or photo essay that shows off an inspired eco-solution. The winner will receive $10,000 to make their idea a reality — as well as a free home energy audit from Current Energy.

Also — jump over to the iTunes store right now and you can download the first episode of Big Ideas for free. This expires tomorrow, so be sure to check it out so you can see why I love the show.

For more on THE GREEN, hop on over to the official site here.

Unless of course, there are some of you out there older than 100. If so, I need to update Ecorazzi’s demographics.

Anyways, it’s time to celebrate! SIGG turns 100 years young this year and to mark the occasion are launching Sigg100 — a new site that explores the 100 most significant eco-moments of the past century. Here’s what’s going down:

Visitors to www.sigg100.com will also have an opportunity to chat directly with environmental activists through SIGG Switzerland’s bi-monthly Q&A series. Chat hosts include Academy Award winning producer and author Laurie David; acclaimed actor and environmental enthusiast, Ed Begley Jr.; The Oprah Winfrey show and NBC Nightly News environmental contributor P. Simran Sethi; Founder of EcoFabulous.com and Domino Magazine’s eco-editor Zem Joaquin; and Executive Director of Healthy Child Healthy World, Christopher Gavigan.

Regulars to the site will also have an opportunity to win a free trip to Hawaii to attend the two day Kokua Festival. This is the same music jam hosted by Jack Johnson on April 19th and 20th in honor of Earth Day.

We congratulate SIGG on their centennial anniversary! Don’t forget to pay a visit this coming Monday for the start of their Eco 100 Greatest Moments! The trip down memory lane will end on Earth Day, April 22nd.
