According to Greenhouse, the E-Fuel MicroFueler system is a model for energy sustainability. It produces organic fuel, or E-Fuel100, for about two-thirds the cost of gasoline, and can be installed and operated safely at residences or businesses.

Using patented ethanol separation-column technology, the appliance-sized unit produces ethanol and pumps it directly into the consumer’s vehicle. The Greenhouse team delivers raw material and maintains the home-based unit as part of the service package it offers.

I’m not sure how much these babies are gonna cost to actually install in the house but I’m kinda hoping that Heidi and Spencer get one and then make a reality show about it. Wait, not that last part.

If you have an aversion to Heidi and Spencer Pratt news, please read elsewhere. I won’t be offended — but rather, hopeful. Nevertheless, if like the scene of an accident, you simply must know more about these two idiots, allow me to weave a new tale of woe.

Apparently, after the media (ahem, us included) were tricked into believing Heidi and Spencer Pratt (The Hills) had left the set of NBC’s wildly spinning-out-of-control reality series disaster I’m A Celebrity…Now Get Me Out Of Here due to well, being divas — they returned. OMG what a surprise! Unfortunately for them, NBC forced the pair to endure a night in a labeled “torture chamber” near the camp. To you and me, the word torture chamber might conjure images of a really horrible setting — but for Heidi and Spencer, sleeping on sheets with a thread count of less than 1,000 is probably enough to unnerve.

Anyways, after spending a night in “the dark room” — and only allowed beans, rice and water (shocking!) — the duo have quit once more alleging that they were really tortured. Give me a break. According to the new shot above, that looks to me like a cabin with an earthen floor. Hell — they even gave you bamboo cots! I think the 4H cabins from my youth were more of a torture than this setup.

Heidi and Spencer Pratt have become the first celebrities to leave NBC’s new reality show “I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here” — but not because they were voted off. The two actually quit because they couldn’t hack it in the jungles of Costa Rica and wanted their imaginary self-important lives back. “We’re the most famous people in the world!” yelled Spencer at one point. Raise your hand if you have no idea who they are.

Pictured here, Pratt boasts a rather offensive (no matter your politics) shirt stating: “God, Guns, Glory.” Yowzers! And of course next to him is sidekick Heidi Montag who wants you to: “ Read my lipstick. Vote for McCain/Palin.”

Natalie Portman has announced a new line of shoes in conjunction with Te Casan. The shoes, which are available for pre-order on January 15, are vegan and 5% of profits will be going to charity. Additional details are not available (such as price), but it comes as no surprise that Portman would consider entering this arena. The actress, though herself not a vegan in the food sense, has long made it a rule to purchase fashion that does not come from animals. [natalieportman.com via justjared]

Jennifer Love Hewitt, Spencer Pratt, and Ross McCall spent Christmas Eve volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission in downtown LA. “I have made it a point to come to the Los Angeles Mission at Christmas,” said the 28-year-old Hewitt. “There are so many hurting people on the streets of our city, but when I’m here I get to see the smiles of the children and the great food for everyone. I think they are getting real help from the staff and volunteers. I come to give something back, but invariably I get more blessing than I give.” [via tmz]

Finally, Spice Girl Melanie Brown avoided a potential PR bah humbug by agreeing to donate to charity a $20,000 fee she received as part of her participation in a Make-A-Wish foundation fundraiser. The singer had originally planned on taking the money for personal gain, but smartly did an about-face once she was critcized for the move. Said one source, “All Mel B did was sing a couple of Christmas songs, sign autographs and mingle in with the crowd collecting donations in a plastic bucket. Many people felt she should have waived her fee. It’s the least she could have done to help the needy kids.” [via starpulse]

It’s amazing to me that people like this need to be told “this is the right thing to do”. Alas. All’s well that ends well.
