It’s getting harder and harder for Tina Fey to drop the spirit of Sarah Palin.

The popular actress and former-SNL alum rode a wave of popularity last year with her impression of former Republican Vice-Presidential nominee, Governor Sarah Palin. Unfortunately, since the party’s defeat in November, friends say Fey has had a hard time giving up the act. “She absolutely threw herself into that role,” said one source. “You have absolutely no idea how soul crushing it is to pretend to be in Palin’s shoes. There were moments when I would discover her listening to Rush Limbaugh while simultaneously watching FOX News with the volume off. I even found literature for the creationist musuem in Kentucky in the back seat of hew new Ford F-150 pickup truck — and Tina hates trucks!”

Even with the success and popularity of her hit TV Show 30 Rock, friends say Fey just isn’t happy. “She’s generally a very bubbly, open-minded person,” said production designer Reily Wilkes, “but lately she’s constantly bitching about Obama and doodling “2012″ all over the set. I’ve had to clean the ladies bathroom mirror four time already because of pitbulls drawn with lipstick. It’s seriously getting old.”

Friends close to Fey say they’re now being forced to take drastic action in the wake of her announcement that she’s planning to aerially hunt wolves next week in Alaska. “We need to cleanse Tina’s soul before it’s too late,” said Ashley Judd. “I’ve fought long and hard to stop the real Sarah Palin from causing more damage to Alaska’s wildlife. I’m not sure the world can seriously handle two of them.”

When asked for comment, Tina Fey simply winked at us, went “pew! pew!” with her fingers, and flashed us her new “Real Women Hunt Moose” canvas tote.

It’s worth noting that today is April 1st.

A walk-on role in the new Steve Carell/Tina Fey flick, Date Night, brought in a reported $14,000 for charity. The online charity auction site CharityFolks.com hosted the fundraiser, with money raised going towards the community focused organizations DreamYard and The Urban Ecology Institute. Who wouldn’t want to meet Liz Lemon or Michael Scott?

The Sundance Channel will premiere season two of Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno shorts online starting April 1st. Expect even more bizarre costumes and reenactments of the sex lives of various creatures. Other Web titles include Yung Yeti, a series of green-themed animated shorts by Cole Gerst; H2.0, an alternative, artistic look at the importance of water; and EcoHeros, which features interviews with inspirational people within the eco-friendly movement.

Salma Hayek, Jennie Garth and Tina Fey got an eco-friendly surprise when the folks at Style Café Moms – an “online café for the trendy mom” — sent the stars their Celebrity Basket full of some swanky eco-friendly goodies.

Included were products from Oscar & Belle, Obli Organic, Positively Organic, Tye Brand and Baby Breaux. About the basket, Jennie Garth said, “I received the package today from “Style Cafe Moms” and loved everything…I have recently crossed over to green living, and it is very important to me. I loved the little blue dress with the stitching and the yellow one too! My oldest daughter loves the tye-dye shirt! I just wanted to thank you so very much for thinking of us! We will use the products and tell all about them.”

A couple Sunday’s ago, Fox television’s cartoon series King Of The Hill aired an episode titled “Earthy Girls Are Easy.” (You can watch the full episode here.) As Grist points out, this episode was “a horrendous letdown.” Here’ a bit from their review: “It was everything KotH is usually not: thuddingly obvious, inauthentic, mean-spirited, and most damning of all, not funny. At first you would be forgiven for thinking that this was yet another hilarious impersonation by Tina Fey of Republican vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin.

Nope.

This is the real deal.

I repeat — this woman actually has a reusable cloth bag that says “Real Women Hunt Moose”.

That she carries in public.

But hey — at least it’s green, right? I can’t believe a majority of Republicans seriously believe this woman is qualified enough to be Vice-President of the United States; let alone President should something happen.

The talented Tina Fey once more reprised her role as Governor Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live last night. Queen Latifah played moderator Gwen Ifill. A cast member, Jason Sudeikis spoofed Joe Biden. Everyone was spot on — check it out below!

Poehler as Clinton: “I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy.”

Fey as Palin: “And I can see Russia from my house!”

Poehler: “I believe global warming is caused by man.”

Fey: “And I believe it’s just God huggin’ us closer.”

Matt Damon is frightened, Gina Gershon has a damn good impersonation and Pamela Anderson wants her to suck it. Who could we be talking about?  None other than vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

In more “Sarah Palin Pisses The World Off” news, on Thursday Pink told popeater.com: ”If I were writing a letter to Sarah Palin it would be a lot of whys and hows. Who are you? Do you know? Why do you hate animals? Please point out Iraq on a map …” As many know, Pink considers herself an animal rights activist and said that unlike Palin, “she couldn’t imagine shooting a wolf out of a helicopter.” But It isn’t just Palin’s hatred of animals that upsets Pink.

What scares the singer most is the women out there who consider Palin’s selection some of sort of victory for feminism. Pink says: ”This woman hates women. She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that’s going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would’ve been capable of … I can’t imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She’s not of this time. The woman terrifies me.”

After an only mildly successful stint as the host of the Oscars, Stewart is putting on his master of ceremonies hat (it’s blue with feathers) once again for the second Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education.

The celebrity infused fundraiser will help raise money for schools and educational programs for autistic children and adults. The last benefit was held in October of 2006 and raised more than $2.6 billion. THAT IS NOT A TYPO PEOPLE!!! 2.6 BILLION!!!!! [Ed note: Actually, that is a typo. $2.6 billion? The sourced article was a bit too generous, though we'd love to believe it true. Actual amount was $2.5 million.]

This year the Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education will take place on April 13th at the Beacon Theater in New York and will also air live on Comedy Central at 8 pm EST. You can expect performances by Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler. And appearances by Jonah Hill, Matthew Broderick, Kevin James, Rosie O’Donnell and Susie Essman.
