Tom Green’s Planet Green Game Show Now Playing

If you just can’t get enough of “shock comedian” Tom Green and have been praying for the day that he returns to television, you’re in luck.  The appropriately named former MTV star is bringing his frenetic energy and bizarre sense of humor to Planet Green for a new game show called “Go for the Green”, which airs Saturdays at 8pm EST.

Planet Green describes the new eco-quiz show as “a fun, high energy elimination game show where 50 members of our live audience compete to stay in the game and prove that, like our host Tom Green, they’re GREEN too! It’s survival of the fittest, and by the end of the show two finalists will face off in a tension filled game to win our grand prize — a fantastic green weekend getaway.”

If you think you’ve got the eco-smarts to participate, Planet Green recommends doing some quick cramming over at Treehugger and then practicing by playing the online quiz at the Planet Green website.

No word on whether Go for the Green will involve the gross, sort of animal-unfriendly antics Tom engaged in back in the day, like humping a dead moose.

Planet Green Now Casting For Tom Green Game Show

According to new casting information, it appears that the name for comedian Tom Green’s new show for the Planet Green network has been changed from The Tom Green Project to Green’s Got Game.

Damn, there was a lot of “green” in that sentence.

From what we can tell, the game show is expected to bow sometime this fall — but casting has already begun. If you live in Los Angeles, here are the details:

“Think you’re “green” enough to be on TV?!!! Are you “sustainable” under pressure?! Come audition for a new game show with TV & film star Tom Green on Discovery Channel’s network PLANET GREEN! If you’re environmentally conscious, always telling your friends/family to recycle, buy organic and favor the bike over the car, this is the show for you! Be part of the awareness and have fun competing for trips around the world!”

We’ve no idea yet what contestants might be put through — but hopes are high that it includes lions and an obstacle course. On fire.
