Razzi Snap: Scientist Names New Spider In Honor Of Rocker Neil Young

Neil Young has been immortalized as the official name of a newly discovered species of spider, Myrmekiaphila neilyoungi. The honor was bestowed by Jason Bond, a biologist at East Carolina University. “I really enjoy his music and have had a great appreciation of him as an activist for peace and justice,” he said. Jason’s wife, who apparently isn’t cool enough to be immortalized as an eight-legged critter, had no comment. [via livescience]

Whitney Houston sang a rare live gig for the Caudwell Children’s Ball last week amidst the swirling rumors that she was paid anywhere from six to seven figures for the act. If it’s true, we think it’s BS that she would take so much cash to perform for a children’s charity. [via the cheers]

Victoria Beckham is hoping some actual good will come out the toxic disaster that was the Spice Girls World Tour by auctioning off the swanky outfits she wore on stage. Posh expects almost $2 million dollars to be raised from the various auctions — with all the proceeds benefiting her children’s charity. [via sunday mirror]

Posh Bares It All In The Name Of Skin Cancer

Victoria Beckham is stripping down in the name of skin cancer. In partnership with designer Marc Jacobs, she is posing nude in a series of t-shirts that will promote skin cancer awareness. Posh is joining other naked female celebrities protecting their skin like Heidi Klum, Eva Mendes, and Joss Stone who have also supported the campaign.  According to Posh:

Since we moved to California I have realised how important it is to practise safe sun for myself and to keep my three boys skin well protected as well. Skin cancer is a huge problem and I really wanted to help raise awareness by taking part in Marc’s initiative.

The autographed shirts go on sale in Marc Jacob’s stores beginning next week and all proceeds from the sale will go to the NYU Skin Cancer Foundation.

Shanna Moakler Is A Skinny Bitch

It looks like this ex- beauty queen and  co-host of the CW Crowned has jumped on the Skinny Bitch bandwagon. Joining other skinny bitches like Victoria Beckham, this mom of three recently spoke about her shift to a vegetarian lifestyle:

My husband (drummer Travis Barker) is a veggie and I always wanted to try it. Our first step was making our entire family go “organic.” I only wish we had done it sooner! I also read a book called Skinny Bitch“, which opened my eyes to cruelty to animals, and that was it! It hasn’t been that hard for me… Los Angeles offers lots of great alternatives!

Looks like she discovered the New York Times bestseller just in time. The sassy authors Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin have just released Skinny Bitch in the Kitch for “Kick-Ass Recipes for Hungry Girls Who Want to Stop Cooking Crap (and Start Looking Hot!).” According to the website:

Quit your bitching—they’ve heard you already! You read Skinny Bitch and it totally rocked your world. Now you want to know, “What can I cook that’s good for me, but doesn’t taste like crap?” Well, lucky for you, the Bitches are on the case. Victoria Beckham Receives A Dead Turkey Stuffed With Christmas Joy

When exchanging gifts with that special vegetarian in your life, it’s best to just put the present under the tree…NOT STUFF IT INSIDE A TURKEY!!! But don’t take my word for it, just ask Posh Spice-A.K.A Victioria Beckham.

This Christmas, Victoria was given a gift bag by celebrity skin care doctor, Neetu Nirdosh, M.D, with an array of products for her upcoming world tour. Oh yeah, except the actual gift bag wasn’t a bag at all, but a dead turkey. That’s right, in the spirit of the holidays, Dr. Neetu Nirdosh, decided it would be a good idea to stuff some skin care freebies into dead poultry carcasses and give them to celebrities as festive gifts. Apparently, Dr. Nirdosh didn’t do his research or he would have learned that Victoria Beckham is a passionate vegetarian and animal lover. And as someone who himself is sans dead animal, I can freely say it’s probably not the BEST idea to hide my figgy pudding inside a turkey…dead or alive.

The Daily Express quoted a “source” close to Victoria, saying, “The thought of her using these products that have been stuffed inside a turkey is just nuts. She refuses to eat meat or wear fur so Victoria is far from impressed from it.”

I have heard of a lot of messed up things in my life, but this story definitely takes the cake…or should I say the giblets. Dr. Nirdosh, maybe you misunderstood- it’s called stalking stuffer, not stalking stuffing. Listen, I can’t tell you what she wants, what she really, really wants, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t that!! You dummy!

Victoria Beckham To Lose Her Clothes For Charity

Let the discussions on using nude women to promote charity efforts begin! We’ve seen more celebrity ladies lately drop their clothing to support various causes (Maggie Q, Sophie Monk, Alicia Silverstone, Pippa Black) and the response has ranged from supportive to the unnecessary use of sex to sell a message. Please welcome Victoria Beckham to the club!

According to the Hollywood Rag, Posh has been signed to become the face of designer Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 2008 collection and he has persuaded her to be photographed naked with the image to be used on a range of his skin cancer charity T-shirts. Of course! From the article,

“A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘Victoria loves Marc’s work but she wasn’t entirely comfortable with getting naked. Marc went all-out to persuade her. And when she heard about what a great cause it was she knew she just couldn’t turn it down. The picture she and Marc have chosen is amazing - sexy but tasteful.’”

The Spice Girl will join other celebrities such as Julianne Moore, Dita Von Teese and Naomi Campbell, who all stripped for Jacobs’ T-shirts in 2006. That year, over $60,000 was raised for charity — and Jacobs is hoping even more will benefit this time around.
