Razzi Snap: Get Artsy with Brad Pitt’s Kids

Filed under: art, babies and bumps, campaigns, donations — sara @ 9:23 am

The Little Stamp Company, an eco-friendly business established to help preschoolers learn to spell their names, is a favorite of celeb kids. Brooke Shields, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Victoria and David Beckham, Mark Walhberg, and Reese Witherspoon all have customized stamps for their children.

Spice Girl Mel C is inviting you to adopt. Along with fellow celebs Kim Wilde and comedian Timmy Mallet, Mel is promoting the Adopt a Word campaign, an initiative of I Can. I Can supports speech skills for children with special needs, and by making a donation to adopt a word for a year, you can help a youngster learn to communicate.

Freaky-beautiful (anybody who can make human meat pies, kill Sirius Black, and still seduce King Arthur is entitled to that description!) Helena Bonham Carter is the new patron of Action Duchenne, a UK muscular dystrophy charity. She says, “As a patron of Action Duchenne, I would like to urge as many people as possible to find out about the work of the charity and the devastating effects of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Treatments and a cure seem tantalisingly close but they will not appear without further support and funding. Please join Action Duchenne in helping to make muscle wasting history.”

Victoria Beckham And Gordon Ramsay To Open Very Non-Vegetarian Restaurant

Filed under: food & drink, not green — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 10:07 am

I always think it’s rather strange when an outspoken vegetarian displays continuous non-vegetarian decision making skills. For example: the Green Quote from yesterday was from Diane Keaton who spoke about her wonderful choice to go veg. While I was pleased to report the news, what I didn’t include was that when Diane was asked if she had raised her children vegetarian she said: “No, no. I’m not doing that to them. I’m sure, once they grow up, they’ll be going, ‘What an eccentric human being, this mother of ours.” Eccentric? Really?

In another case of Veggie WTF, Victoria Beckham (who loves cooking mince meat for her family even though she’s meat-free) is planning on opening a new restaurant in LA with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Now of course you can automatically assume the restaurant will be far from veg since Gordon himself once said: “If my daughter ever grew up and married a vegetarian, I’d never forgive her.” Ramsay recently confirmed his and Victoria’s non-veg establishment, saying: “Yes, it is true that Victoria and I are setting up a restaurant in LA. together. I’m really excited. She’s really keen to focus on a traditional English-style menu, like bangers and mash, fish and chips and such like.”

Bangers and mash? Fish and chips? Part of being vegetarian is not only eating in a responsible way, but showing the world that it’s basically the most awesome thing ever! Normally my philosophy is that whatever small change a person can make in their diet to lead a more green, less cruel life is totally rad! HOWEVER, Victoria is a big star and it’s important she set a clear and positive example for the world to follow. What do you think? Is it cool that Veggie Vicky is opening a restaurant with a meat-infested menu? Speak now or forever hold your peace!

The Green Quote: Vegetarian Victoria Beckham Likes To Cook Mince Meat

Filed under: not green — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 9:48 am

“The only thing I can cook really is mince meat, which is ironic because I’m a vegetarian. But I like calzone and lasagna. I cooked every day in Spain so David and the boys lived off minced meat for four years. I cook a Sunday dinner every single Sunday I’ll have you know. My kids like Yorkshire pudding so I make that, I can make it from scratch and I make Dora the Explorer cakes for afters because the kids love them.”

- Victoria Beckham discussing her mince meat cooking ways. Somebody hand this chick a vegetarian cookbook! It’s time to broaden your horizons Victoria!

Top 8 Anti-Green Celebrities Get Outed In Chicago Tribune

Filed under: newspaper, not green — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 8:40 am

Ecorazzi loves the fact that being green is so damn trendy these days. All across the board we’re seeing celebs (as well as some of pretty awesome “common” folk) set a new standard for eco-living. But of course not EVERYONE is getting on the green train. In fact some famous faces are staying away from it completely. The Chicago Tribune recently posted their top 8 LEAST green celebrities and I bet you won’t believe who’s on the list!!

Counting down…

8. Bill Gates- While this guy does a lot for charity (which we love), it’s estimated that his global impact is 10,000 greater than the average person. WTF?

7. David and Victoria Beckham- We totally called this one! Last year, David flew more than 250,000 miles, is the owner of 15 cars and owns several homes. Add that all together, and he created about 18 times more carbon dioxide than the average person.

6. Madonna- Jeez! We called this one as well! Water bottles aside, in the past year she has created more than 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide!

5. John Travolta- John Travolta owns five planes, including a Boeing 707 complete with multiple dining rooms, and it’s estimated he has an annual carbon footprint that’s about 100 times more than the average person.

Hungry for more? To see the rest of the list scoot on over to chicagotribune.com. The remaining four might surprise you. I’ll give one clue — we DEFINITELY predicted number one!

Bill Cosby Donates Famous Sweaters For Children’s Charity

Filed under: campaigns, donations, fashion, web — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 11:28 am

Seems like these days everyone’s selling the clothes off their back to help raise a little extra loot for the good stuff! Yesterday Ecorazzi told you that Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham were both giving up their threads for the sake of charity, and now it looks like Mr. Jello Pudding himself is going topless too.

Bill Cosby is teaming up with Auction Cause to get rid of a few of his famous sweaters on eBay from June 2-12th! All of the proceeds will go directly to the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation charity — a non-profit educational organization started by the Cosby family in 1997 after the murder of Ennis Cosby, Bill’s son.

The idea for an auction came from Cosby’s daughter, Evin, who said, “My mother and father were going through a storage closet, and I happened to be there and pounced on these sweaters. I told them that the price of what some of these sweaters might sell for could make a big difference in the lives of thousands of children.”

Here’s an idea: buy a pair of Kim Kardashians pants, a top from Victoria Beckham and a Bill Cosby sweater. Now that’s hot!

Kim Kardashian And Victoria Beckham Donate Clothes For Charity

Filed under: campaigns, donations, fashion, products, shopping — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 9:50 pm

Looks like Hollywood is teaming up with eBay once again for some starrific (it’s like the famous version of terrific) auctions in the name of c-h-a-r-i-t-y!

Kim Kardashian, who’s famous for nothing at all, is using a little of that undeserved fame for a good cause. Kim is working with eBay to auction off a few of her less worn outfits, including Jimmy Choo boots, Chanel bags and various designer dresses and accessories all for the sake of the Dream Foundation – a charity granting wishes to the terminally ill.

Kardashian is also offering a chance for one lucky (depending on how you look at it) bidder to win a lunch date and a shopping spree at her DASH store in Calabasas, California. She says, “It’s going to be amazing! These are some of my favorite items…Plus, (you can) bid to have a fantastic lunch with me and my sisters, followed by some personal shopping help from us at our store.” Wait, but what if a terminally ill child’s only wish is to NOT spend the day with Kim? Oh I joke.

Down the street Victoria Beckham is also taking off her clothes for a little bit of charity gold. Beckham hopes to raise $2 million by auctioning off all six of her Roberto Cavalli-designed costumes from the band’s comeback tour earlier this year.

A spokesman for Beckham says, “Victoria is putting together various ideas for the sale. She would consider offers from individuals - for the right price. It’s time for any high-rollers out there to get their checkbooks out.”

Did you hear that high-rollers? Call Victoria or Kim pronto and anti up some of that cold hard cash!

Razzi Snap: Scientist Names New Spider In Honor Of Rocker Neil Young

Filed under: animals, campaigns, donations, politics — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 2:27 pm

flowerNeil Young has been immortalized as the official name of a newly discovered species of spider, Myrmekiaphila neilyoungi. The honor was bestowed by Jason Bond, a biologist at East Carolina University. “I really enjoy his music and have had a great appreciation of him as an activist for peace and justice,” he said. Jason’s wife, who apparently isn’t cool enough to be immortalized as an eight-legged critter, had no comment. [via livescience]

Whitney Houston sang a rare live gig for the Caudwell Children’s Ball last week amidst the swirling rumors that she was paid anywhere from six to seven figures for the act. If it’s true, we think it’s BS that she would take so much cash to perform for a children’s charity. [via the cheers]

Ever wonder what an Al Gore presidency might have been like instead of the disaster that was the current administration? Sure, Saturday Night Live did a hysterical take, but the Huffington Post’s Norman McAfee really lays it all out for us. January ‘09 can’t come soon enough. [via Huffington Post]

Victoria Beckham is hoping some actual good will come out the toxic disaster that was the Spice Girls World Tour by auctioning off the swanky outfits she wore on stage. Posh expects almost $2 million dollars to be raised from the various auctions — with all the proceeds benefiting her children’s charity. [via sunday mirror]

Posh Bares It All In The Name Of Skin Cancer

Filed under: campaigns, donations — paige @ 2:06 pm

snf29bizt_426536j2.jpgVictoria Beckham is stripping down in the name of skin cancer. In partnership with designer Marc Jacobs, she is posing nude in a series of t-shirts that will promote skin cancer awareness. Posh is joining other naked female celebrities protecting their skin like Heidi Klum, Eva Mendes, and Joss Stone who have also supported the campaign.  According to Posh:

Since we moved to California I have realised how important it is to practise safe sun for myself and to keep my three boys skin well protected as well. Skin cancer is a huge problem and I really wanted to help raise awareness by taking part in Marc’s initiative.

The autographed shirts go on sale in Marc Jacob’s stores beginning next week and all proceeds from the sale will go to the NYU Skin Cancer Foundation.

Shanna Moakler Is A Skinny Bitch

Filed under: books, food & drink — paige @ 11:51 pm

shanna-moakler-picture-1.jpgIt looks like this ex- beauty queen and  co-host of the CW Crowned has jumped on the Skinny Bitch bandwagon. Joining other skinny bitches like Victoria Beckham, this mom of three recently spoke about her shift to a vegetarian lifestyle:

My husband (drummer Travis Barker) is a veggie and I always wanted to try it. Our first step was making our entire family go “organic.” I only wish we had done it sooner! I also read a book called Skinny Bitch, which opened my eyes to cruelty to animals, and that was it! It hasn’t been that hard for me… Los Angeles offers lots of great alternatives!

Looks like she discovered the New York Times bestseller just in time. The sassy authors Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin have just released Skinny Bitch in the Kitch for “Kick-Ass Recipes for Hungry Girls Who Want to Stop Cooking Crap (and Start Looking Hot!).” According to the website:

Quit your bitching—they’ve heard you already! You read Skinny Bitch and it totally rocked your world. Now you want to know, “What can I cook that’s good for me, but doesn’t taste like crap?” Well, lucky for you, the Bitches are on the case. Self-proclaimed pigs, Rory and Kim understand all too well: Life without lasagna isn’t a life worth living; chocolate cake is vital to our survival; and no one can live without mac n’ cheese—no one. So can you keep to your SB standards and eat like a whale? Shit yeah, bitches.

Clearly this is an “in-your-face” approach to going vegan, but the girls are on a mission. Go ahead, let your inner skinny bitch out (like so many other hollywood starlets) and jump on the bandwagon.
