Bon Jovi and will.i.am Among Celebs To Perform At Live Earth India

You know here on the Razz we sure love to dish about all the amazing star-studded green events happening in America — but I think it’s about time we showed India some love too!

On December 7th, a slew of legendary musicians will come together to celebrate Live Earth India — an initiative to help raise awareness and offer solutions to the world’s climate crisis!

Joining Grammy-winners Bon Jovi and Live Earth India spokesperson and actor, Amitabh Bachchan is a list of global superstars including Roger Waters, will.i.am, Anoushka Shankar, Shiamak Davar, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shaan and many more!

Tickets are already on sale and the concert will also be broadcast live from the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on Star TV and Big FM radio.

You can register to host your own Friends of Live Earth event and receive access to a special social networking site, where you can share ideas, ask and answer questions, support one another’s events, and share photos and stories afterward. will.i.am Premiers It’s A New Day On Oprah

In the spirit of Barack-Mania, will.i.am recently premiered his new song, It’s A New Day, on Oprah! The songwriter isn’t new to the political genre, having written a song in January called Yes We Can, in support of the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

In It’s A New Day, will.i.am sings: “I went asleep last night tired from the fight. I’ve been fighting for tomorrow all my life. Yea I woke up this morning feeling brand new. ‘Cause the dreams that I’ve been dreaming have finally came true!

Will.I.Am Premieres New Song During UN Discussions On Extreme Poverty

Rapper Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas fame performed a new activist song this morning at special event hosted by Oxfam at UN headquarters in NYC. The work, called “In My Name”, is meant to call attention to an important UN discussion taking place that will determine the global progress made toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Joining Oxfam International is Comic Relief and Save the Children — who together have brought more than 30 celebrities from around the world together to join activists of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty. You can add your name to the petition at the website and learn more about a mobilization set for Oct. 17-19 to fight poverty and inequality. Check out the new song below:

Semi-Confirmed Owners List For Tesla Roadster Adds Brad Pitt, Anthony Kiedis

Now that the Tesla Roadster is actually starting to trickle on to roads around America, speculation is heating up as to who’s on the list — and when they’re getting their car. We already know George Clooney, Matt Damon, Michael “Flea” Balzary, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Will.i.am, and Aaron Wills are signed up and paid. We also know that Leonardo DiCaprio is in the hunt as well. Beyond the above, however, we’re forced to rely upon some excellent web-digging by Tesla enthusiasts for names and orders.

Over on the site TeslaMotorClub, a growing list of politicans, artists, musicians, and wealthy folk is starting to take shape. Some new additions that we were previously unaware of include Brad Pitt, Dennis Haysbert, and Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Anthony Kiedis. Also interesting to note on the list are those involved with green documentaries — from Chris Paine, Director of Who Killed The Electric Car to Scott Burns, Producer of An Inconvenient Truth.

Obviously, we’ll know more in the coming months, but it’s a good bet that the latter half of 2008 will be a feast for Tesla spying as famous folk hit the roads — and premieres — in their shiny green cars.
