It looks like TXU is pushing through with their plans to build 11 coal-fired plants in Texas, the idea of which already elicits outrage from many people, and now even Hollywood is stepping in. Sheryl Crow is joining forces with An Inconvenient Truth producer Laurie David and they’ll be going on a two-week tour of Texas and the Gulf states to drum up environmental awareness and hopefully to thwart the plans to build the coal plants.

TXU has promised to cut emissions by 20 percent, but David doesn’t buy it. “To allow a company, knowing everything we know about this problem, to fast-track and build dirty plants… it’s unacceptable. It’s immoral,” David said. TXU insists that the newly proposed plants, including the one that will be built in Fannin County, are cleaner than the existing ones.

We hope the two-week bus tour will go well, but we’d just like to know: will they be offsetting emissions from this trip and will they be using an eco-friendly vehicle?
