What’s more fun than watching Chevy Chase in old SNL reruns or running around on a golf course with a gopher? How about running around in a park for a game of softball?

Tomorrow he’ll do just that in East Hampton, with fellow actors Lori Singer, Mercedes Ruehl and others for the annual Artists vs. Writers Charity Softball Game. Sadly, regular participant and pitcher Roy Scheider of Jaws fame will not be starring as pitcher this year; the actor died in February.

In its 60th year, the event will be benefiting the charities Phoenix House, the country’s leading nonprofit center for drug rehabilitation; East End Hospice, a New York hospice where no one is ever denied care for inability to pay, and East Hampton Day Care Center, which provides support for working families and single mothers.
