Musician and animal rights activist, Moby tweeted his support of the protesters who were arrested for disrupting the SeaWorld float during the Rose Bowl parade. He wrote:

“A 12 y.o girl and my wheelchair bound friend Gretchen were arrested protesting seaworld today. Dear sea-world, you’re losing. #Blackfish”

The SeaWorld float during the parade came with extra company. The float was surrounded by police officers, anticipating some disruptions due to all the backlash the marine park has been receiving since the release of the documentary, “Blackfish.” About 19 protesters were arrested for “trying to stop the float,” according to PETA. Among them was Simone Reyes, executive assistant to Russell Simmons. Reyes posted on Facebook, “Mad love and respect to my fellow vegan Warriors today who I had the honor of being jailed with – some have bloody battle scars but we are all elated we gave the captive orcas of Slave/Seaworld a voice #activistlife

Nothing quite like a flood of police officers around a float during a parade to reinforce that family-friendly feeling.

Don’t blame vegans for the shame you feel about using animals

The shame Carly Lewis claims veganism casts over her is more likely the ghosts of moral uncertainty, spectres that are more likely fish than cows, wondering how morality can possibly be used as ammunition in favour of murder.
