Co-Founder of Microsoft’s Yacht Botches Up Coral Reef

Like us on Facebook:

Way to go, Paul. Paul Allen, uber-rich billionaire and co-founder of Microsoft, damaged a shit ton of coral reef (14,000 feet to be exact) earlier this month with his 300-foot luxury yacht off the Cayman Islands coast. Okay, so maybe he wasn’t on board at the time, but who needs a yacht that big?! I’m satisfied with a simple kayak rental, which doesn’t require an entire crew and captain.

His current company, Vulcan, released a statement about the minor disaster about the yacht, named The Tatoosh. “When its crew was alerted by a diver that her anchor chain may have impacted coral in the area, the crew promptly, and on their own accord, relocated their position to ensure the reef was protected,”

Allen has also donated money towards helping to restore coral reefs – an effort he decided to make prior to this yachting mishap. Really adds an extra layer of irony to it, doesn’t it? No matter what amount he’s fined, I think Allen will do perfectly alright. Just another drop in the…sea.

You are aware that Allen was not on the yacht right? And that his crew was directed (wrongly) to anchor there… some simple research would have shown this.

Don’t blame vegans for the shame you feel about using animals

The shame Carly Lewis claims veganism casts over her is more likely the ghosts of moral uncertainty, spectres that are more likely fish than cows, wondering how morality can possibly be used as ammunition in favour of murder.
