Arby’s Trolls Vegetarians With Condiment Sandwiches

Arby’s is celebrating the leap year by trolling vegetarians.

Already commonly at the bottom of everyone’s restaurant food chain, Arby’s is welcoming vegetarians to get in on the hate.Their menu has been altered for one day only to feature full priced sandwiches without the meat. Yup, they thought it’d be fun to publicly invite people to buy a bun with condiments on it.

“At Arby’s, we’re proud of our meats, but we also understand that meat isn’t for everyone,” Rob Lynch, chief marketing officer and brand president of Arby’s Restaurant Group, said in a statement shared by CBS News. “So we’ve decided to give vegetarians a reason to visit Arby’s on Leap Day by offering a one-day menu designed specifically for them. If it goes well, we’ll likely bring back the vegetarian menu on Feb. 29 each year.” It’s so funny, we bet at least one meat-eater is choking on their roast beef right now.

This isn’t a first for the chain, who once released a ‘vegetarian support hotline’ that peddled brown sugar bacon. I’m wondering if this sort of publicity stunt actually ends with any additional support for the brand. Their attempts to capitalize on the “we hate vegetarians” idea is a bit old, and I can’t believe they haven’t picked on vegans yet. With other chains looking to get vegetarian dollars, it’s pretty hilarious that Arby’s feels like staying irrelevant instead.

good on Arbys.. what’s the problem with poking a little fun?… besides Five Guys is a major chain quite popular with the hipster crowd.. and they sell “vegetarian” condiment burgers as well… except they’re not joking.. they’re just taking your money but it’s ok because they’re trendy

so who’s the bottom of the food chain you said?

also, i just realized this is a vegan website.. this article was literally suggesting Arbys should be making fun of vegans. That’s heavy baiting right there, who is trolling who? seriously..

Yes, Arby’s behaves like children. Their food sucks every day of the year though. Joke’s on them.

Arby’s is still kicking even after the Simpsons indoctrinated an entire generation that it was bad. Majority of people who hate it have never been there.

So that kinda speaks for itself.. I’d rather have a nice smoked meat sandwich than most of the crap at other fast food places.

Also Rob, if you’re a vegan your opinion on how good meat sandwiches are is worthless.

Well, your opinion based on hypotheticals is not worth a lot either. At least my opinion is about things that exist.

I Love Arby’s food! Great variety and their deer meat sandwich last year was outstanding! #StopTreating SoybeansSoCruelly

France’s ban of faux-meat branding won’t stop veganism

Concerned about endangered animals? Stop eating them

Methods of animal conservation that support the exploitation of animals don’t exist for the animals, they exist for human profit.

What you can do if live exports disturb you

The outcry should go further than importation and should be directed at the fact that the animals in question were on their way to slaughter in the first place.
